CareCaller AI is building an AI Care Layer for Telehealth Operations. We help clinics automate critical patient workflows such as follow-ups, refills, scheduling, and care communication using intelligent voice and messaging, deeply integrated into healthcare systems. Our platform is designed for reliability, data safety, and scale, supporting workflows that directly impact patient experience and clinical operations.
Role Overview
We are seeking a VP of engineering to own the company's entire technical function. This is an executive leadership role with full responsibility for system architecture, production reliability, infrastructure, data, security, and the engineering organization.
You will define how the platform is built, ensure it operates reliably at scale, and lead all technical execution. You will have final authority over technical decisions and will be accountable for system performance, security, and long-term scalability.
Compensation
Base salary:2436 LPA
Equity:Stock provided as part of the compensation package, currently valued at approximately 1 Cr (subject to vesting)
Location: Hyderabad preferred, open to remote for highly impressive candidates

Key Responsibilities
Architecture & Technical Strategy
- Own the end-to-end system architecture and long-term technical roadmap
- Make final decisions on system design, services, data flow, and dependencies
- Align technical strategy with business growth and product direction
Production Reliability & Operations
- Own uptime, stability, and system health
- Implement monitoring, alerting, incident response, and post-incident reviews
- Establish engineering practices that prioritize reliability, resilience, and fault tolerance
Data & Database Systems
- Lead database architecture, migrations, performance optimization, and data integrity
- Ensure long-term scalability, correctness, and security of all data systems
Infrastructure & Deployment
- Own cloud infrastructure, environments, CI/CD pipelines, and release processes
- Ensure safe, repeatable, and scalable deployment practices
Integrations & External Systems
- Lead design and reliability of third-party integrations (telephony, AI APIs, partners)
- Architect systems for resiliency, retries, and external service failure
Security & Compliance
- Own platform security, access controls, and data protection
- Ensure systems meet healthcare-grade reliability, privacy, and compliance standards
Incident Management
- Lead on-call practices, outage response, root cause analysis, and long-term remediation
Engineering Leadership
- Build and lead the engineering organization
- Set technical standards, review practices, and quality expectations
- Drive accountability, ownership, and operational excellence across the team
Qualifications
- 6+ years of experience in backend, platform, or infrastructure engineering
- Prior experience leading the entire technical function of a product or company in a CTO, VP of Engineering, or equivalent role
- Proven ownership of production systems end-to-end, including architecture, infrastructure, and operations
- Demonstrated leadership of system design for products used by real customers at scale
- Strong experience with cloud infrastructure, modern backend systems, and data platforms
- Track record of building reliable, scalable systems in high-accountability environments
- Experience leading incident response, post-mortems, and long-term reliability improvements
- Ability to make and own final technical decisions at the organizational level
Working Model
