Hiring: Vice President - Operations | Real Estate / Commercial Assets | Gurgaon
We are partnering with a leading global real estate developer and operator to hire a Vice President - Operations to bebased in Gurgaon, who will play a critical role in driving the company's operational excellence, sustainability, and asset performance strategy.
Our client is a well-established player in the real estate sector, recognized for its global presence, innovation, and world-class asset portfolio spanning office, retail, multifamily, hospitality, and logistics. In India, the organization manages a large portfolio of premium commercial assets across key gateway cities, including marquee business parks and co-working platforms. The organization is currently entering its next phase of growth, creating an exciting opportunity for a senior leader to shape its future.
Key Responsibilities:
- Technical Leadership: Provide strategic and technical leadership for the development, coordination, and implementation of complex and diverse sets of building management interventions to produce the best outcomes including operating and financial performance
- Demonstrate high technical competence and have an ambition to be recognized for technical excellence. This will be matched by good commercial awareness and a client-focused outward looking attitude
- Benchmark globally for industry best practices and aspire to implement state of art technologies, products, and services within the group
- Operating Standards, Policy guidelines, SOPs, Compliance: Setting and improving the Technical Standards, SOPs, Policy guidelines, Systems and Process improvements. Ensuring adherence to all related statutory compliances
- Project Inputs: MEP, Fire, Safety, vertical movement and other technical inputs for all South India Projects- as Client to provide clearance initially and at different stage gates. Facilitate transition from Projects to Operations
- Audits, Technical Certifications, Research and Innovation: Ongoing Audits, internal, external & global audits across South India portfolio for existing & upcoming buildings to ensure no accident / breakdowns occur and are fully compliant with systems working at the optimum level and health
- Safety, Security and Sustainability: Monitor closely to ensure highest standards of Security and Fire Safety implementation by Operating teams through on-going guidance, support and engagement including the highest level of certification
- Establish robust relationship with Occupant Real Estate and Administration Teams including showcasing significant improvements made to services and facilities
- Cross functional coordination with procurement / legal / approvals / HR / Marketing / Leasing / Finance/PMO for business continuity
Ideal Candidate:
- B.E. Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering from a highly recognized University. Post Graduation in Operations Management with strong commercial acumen is highly preferred
- Experience of managing 10-15 million commercial space or large commercial facilities or IT Parks across different geographies
- Managing a team of more than 20-25 people in his previous assignments. Outstanding organizational and leadership abilities
- Exercise technical and commercial diligence through value additions in long term Asset improvement plans and Common Area Maintenance (CAM) budgeting
- Establish strong working relationship including a Continuous performance review mechanism for IPC's and other Service Providers
- Have a planning bent of mind for establishing a long term vision for ESG initiatives including Zero Discharge , Zero Waste and Net Zero Assets
- Good knowledge of Green Building Systems and Certifications (Including ISO Standards / IGBC Ratings and BEE Star Ratings)
- High degree of professional judgment, professional maturity, integrity, credibility
- Excellent customer relationship skills and ability to listen and communicate well at all levels of the company
- Ability to use logical and creative thought processes to develop solutions for short term and long-term building systems needs. A self-starter with the ability to act autonomously
- Demonstrated understanding of business and strong commercial acumen
- Ability to understand complex situations and make sound business decisions
- Achieves results, implements change, has ability to identify and clarify ambiguities, closure and delivery focused
- Accuracy and attention to detail, has ability to manage several complex or high-profile issues simultaneously, and a confident decision maker
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work well under pressure and to re-prioritize multiple tasks
- Proven planning and organisation skills
