Purpose of the Role
Provide data-driven, expert oversight to ensure the organisation operates in full compliance with legal, regulatory, and ethical obligations, through rigorous risk assessment, investigation, and effective challenge.
Key Accountabilities
- Identify, assess, and review compliance risks across business activities, processes, systems, and change initiatives.
- Detect and investigate potential market abuse, including Insider Dealing, Unlawful Disclosure, Market Manipulation, and Anti-Competitive Conduct.
- Lead investigations of compliance breaches, ensuring strong corrective and preventive actions.
- Implement and embed compliance policies aligned to regulatory and jurisdictional requirements.
- Collaborate with 1LOD, Legal, and Risk teams to strengthen the overall compliance and risk framework.
- Oversee identification and investigation of money laundering, terrorist financing, and other financial crime risks.

Role Summary
As a Business Oversight Compliance VP, you will provide independent oversight of Conduct and Compliance risks, advise on regulatory developments, and partner closely with Legal and Compliance leadership.

- Strong compliance or regulatory background in banking or financial institutions.
- Senior-level expertise in risk management, stakeholder influence, communication, and problem-solving.
- Understanding of emerging technologies, data usage, and retail banking operations.
