Role Overview
The Vice Chancellor will serve as the chief academic and executive leader of the university, responsible for establishing University as a high-quality, innovation-driven institution.
This is a leadership role, requiring a strategic thinker with strong academic credentials and proven experience in institution building, governance, and stakeholder management.
Key Responsibilities
1. Strategic Leadership & Institution Building
- Define and drive the vision, mission, and long-term strategy of the university
- Lead the end-to-end setup and operationalisation of the institution
- Build a differentiated positioning with strong industry integration
2. Academic Excellence & Program Development
- Oversee the design and delivery of high-quality, industry-relevant curricula
- Ensure compliance with UGC and regulatory frameworks
- Promote interdisciplinary learning and research culture
3. Faculty & Leadership Hiring
- Attract, recruit, and retain high-calibre academic leaders and faculty
- Build a strong academic governance structure (Deans, HoDs, Academic Council)
4. Industry & Ecosystem Integration
- Leverage the ecosystem for academic collaborations, live projects, and research
- Develop partnerships with corporates, institutions, and global universities
5. Governance & Compliance
- Ensure adherence to all statutory, regulatory, and accreditation requirements
- Establish transparent and effective governance practices
6. Brand Building & External Representation
- Position University as a credible and aspirational institution
- Represent the university across academic, industry, and government platforms
Qualifications
- PhD from a reputed institution (mandatory)
- Strong academic track record with publications/research contributions
Experience
- 15–20+ years in academia, with significant leadership experience
- Proven track record in institution building or scaling academic institutions
- Experience working with regulatory bodies (UGC/AICTE/NAAC, etc.)
