Role Summary:

Flexton, a leading professional services firm, is seeking exceptional Vertex Consultants to spearhead their tax configuration and compliance initiatives. As a Vertex Consultant, you will be responsible for leveraging your expertise in Vertex (or Avalara) to optimize tax rules, system configurations, and automation testing within a dynamic, high-impact team.

Key Responsibilities:

- Configure and manage complex tax rules in Vertex (or Avalara) software

- Implement intricate logic, including Boolean conditions and advanced tax rules

- Support the seamless deployment of tax configurations

- Develop and scale robust automation testing solutions (from proof-of-concept to enterprise-level)

- Provide ongoing troubleshooting and support to ensure optimal tax compliance

Required Skills:

- Proven expertise in Vertex or Avalara tax software

- Comprehensive understanding of tax rules and compliance systems

- Hands-on experience with automation testing frameworks, such as Selenium or equivalent

- Ability to ideate, build, and scale innovative solutions from proof-of-concept to production

Preferred Skills:

- Experience in integrating tax solutions with eCommerce platforms

- Exposure to large-scale, enterprise-level tax implementation projects

Ideal Profile:

- 5+ years of relevant experience in tax configuration and compliance

- Exceptional blend of functional and technical skills

- Thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative, and agile team environment

Key Competencies:

- Vertex O Series expertise

- Proficiency in tax rule configuration and management

- Comprehensive understanding of tax engine workflows

- Adept at handling tax exceptions and complex logic

- Familiarity with Avalara as a secondary skill

- Solid grasp of indirect tax concepts, including sales tax, VAT, and GST

- Expertise in tax jurisdiction handling and rule-based tax calculations

- Proven track record in automation testing, including Selenium or similar frameworks

- Ability to create proof-of-concepts and scale solutions

- Effective collaboration and communication skills to bridge the gap between business and technical teams
