Roles And Responsibilities
- Developing specialized knowledge in their discipline. Serves as best practice/quality resource. Has awareness of latest technical developments in own area. Contributes towards strategy and policy development and ensure delivery within area of responsibility.
- Has in-depth knowledge of best practices and how own area integrates with others; has working knowledge of competition and the factors that differentiate them in the market
- Uses judgment to make decisions or solve moderately complex tasks or problems in areas of operational/product management, manufacturing, technology or engineering. Takes new perspective on existing solutions. Uses technical experience and expertise for data analysis to support recommendations. Uses multiple internal and limited external sources outside of own function to arrive at decisions.
- Acts as a resource for colleagues with less experience. May lead small projects with moderate risks and resource requirements. Explains difficult or sensitive information; works to build consensus. Developing persuasion skills required to influence others on topics within field.
- Providing Technical Support and participate in Hardware Integration Test and manage the Integration of the Controls System.
- Develop Test Plans defining the test execution process to validate system hardware and software products
- Maintaining lab documentation (such as lab descriptions, diagrams, and processes).
- Establishing and managing a lab budget
- Preparing operating budget for Lab Equipment and Engineering store
- Establishing an approval process for removing any equipment (borrowing, for example).
- Setup Test Platform for FST /FAT (Define RTDS interface based on system requirement)
- Developing a competent lab team
- Resource planning, Hardware Test Schedule, budgeting, Man-hours and Work Package
- Health and Safety of the Laboratory and Cubicle Test Area
- Be familiar with the regulatory requirements specific to the lab and ensures all users are incompliance with those standards.
- Update and maintain the Lab Safety and Plan/Manual and
- Proven technical leadership in a complex system engineering development environment.
- Oversees laboratory safety and ensures that the laboratory remains in compliance with all local, state and federal regulations. In cases where non-compliance is found, documents the instances as well as how they were abated
- Project time & integration management: Define the project work breakdown structure (WBS), resources and skill levels required to meet the delivery timescales.
Qualifications / Essential Requirements
- Degree in Electronics/Electrical engineering or related field.
- Experience of HVDC Control and Protection (LCC/VSC) pre-commissioning/Lab Commissioning
- Expertise in HVDC GE Control and Protection Hardware (Series V and eLumina)
- Knowledge of Control and Protection Cubicle Circuit Diagram, field cabling protection relays, HV/MV/LV switchgear, IED's and Distributed control system.
- Experience of leading a team on installation of Control and Protection systems on Site/Lab.
- Familiar with Health and Safety of the Laboratory and Cubicle Test Area
- Strong organization, coordination, planning and teaming skills along with excellent oral and written communication.
- Be familiar with the regulatory requirements specific to the lab and demonstrate in previous experience that you have ensured all users are incompliance with those standards.
