Overview: The Video Editor plays a pivotal role in the production process by bringing visual stories to life through thoughtful editing and engaging presentations. With a focus on creativity, attention to detail, and technical proficiency, the Video Editor ensures that video content aligns with the project's vision and meets high production standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Edit raw footage into polished final products.
  • Collaborate with directors and producers to understand project goals.
  • Implement creative storytelling techniques through editing.
  • Ensure audio synchronization and quality throughout the video.
  • Add visual effects and graphics to enhance storytelling.
  • Conduct color correction and color grading to maintain visual consistency.
  • Meet project deadlines while maintaining workflow efficiency.
  • Organize and manage project files and footage.
  • Feedback on project edits and suggested improvements.
  • Stay updated with current video editing trends and software.
  • Participate in brainstorming sessions for video concepts.
  • Create rough and final cuts of videos according to client specifications.
  • Work with sound designers and other artists to implement audio and sound effects.
  • Prepare videos for various platforms (social media, websites, etc.).
  • Assist in archive and library management of video assets.

Required Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a Video Editor or similar role.
  • Proficiency in video editing software (Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, After Effects etc.).
  • Strong understanding of video production and post-production processes.
  • Excellent storytelling skills with a keen eye for detail.
  • Familiarity with motion graphics and visual effects.
  • Ability to work under tight deadlines and handle multiple projects.
  • Experience with color correction and video post-processing.
  • Knowledge of different video formats and compression techniques.
  • Ability to take constructive criticism and iterate on work.
  • Portfolio showcasing previous video editing work.
  • Basic understanding of Adobe After Effects is a plus.
  • Attention to audio alignment and enhancement techniques.
  • Self-motivated with effective time management skills.
  • Willingness to adapt to new tools and workflows.
