Description
We are seeking a highly skilled Lead Developer with strong technical expertise across Microsoft .NET, SQL Server, scripting languages (Perl, Shell, Batch), Control-M, and Linux/Windows environments to support a major database upgrade and modernization program for Risk Technology platforms
Responsibilities
- Lead SQL Server upgrade initiatives including schema conversion, data migration, and stored procedure refactoring.
- Review and enhance .NET applications to ensure compatibility with upgraded SQL Server environments.
- Analyze database structures, deprecated features, and compatibility risks; propose mitigation strategies.
- Prepare architectural diagrams and conduct technical walkthroughs with senior stakeholders.
- Coordinate across multiple products and integrations to ensure smooth migration execution.
- Perform unit testing and support QA teams in validation and regression testing.
- Work with DBAs and infrastructure teams on migration planning, backup, and rollback strategies.
- Modify Perl, Shell, and Batch scripts interacting with databases post-migration.
- Update Java middleware components integrating with SQL data layers.
- Validate and monitor Control-M job schedules supporting batch and ETL processes.
- Develop automation and monitoring scripts for migration and system health checks.
- Troubleshoot database connectivity, performance, and application issues.
- Work across Linux and Windows environments for cross-platform integrations.
Must Have Skills
- Experience managing medium to large-scale .NET and SQL Server applications in Banking or Financial Services.
- Expert-level SQL Server proficiency including stored procedures, optimization, and performance tuning.
- Strong experience with Microsoft .NET Framework / .NET Core, C#, and SQL Server.
- Proficiency in Perl, Shell, and Windows Batch scripting.
- Experience with Control-M job scheduling.
- Comfortable working in Linux and Windows environments.
- Exposure to Java-based components integrating with databases.
Nice To Have Skills
- Experience in large-scale migration programs in Core Banking, Capital Markets, or Risk Technology.
- Familiarity with data validation frameworks, Git/SVN, and DevOps pipelines.
- Understanding of system dependencies, environment management, and release coordination.
Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field.
- 8+ years of relevant experience in development and database modernization.
- Strong problem-solving and stakeholder communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage critical technical initiatives.
