Role Description

This is a full-time remote role for a Valant EMR Billing Specialist. The role involves managing billing-related tasks, ensuring compliance with relevant policies, and supporting practices in optimizing their revenue cycles. Responsibilities include processing claims, tracking payments, addressing billing inquiries, and facilitating communication between practices and payers. The Valant EMR Billing Specialist will play a key role in ensuring accurate and timely billing processes.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage billing operations using Valant EMR
• Submit insurance claims electronically
• Verify patient eligibility & benefits
• Post payments and reconcile accounts
• Follow up on denied or rejected claims
• Work AR reports and reduce outstanding balances
• Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations
• Communicate with insurance providers and patients

Required Qualifications:

• Minimum 23 years of medical billing experience
• Mandatory experience with Valant EMR
• Strong understanding of: CPT codes, ICD-10 codes
• Mental health billing
• Experience handling commercial insurance, Medicare, Medicaid
• Knowledge of claim denial management
• Strong attention to detail

Preferred:

• Certification (CPB, CPC, or equivalent)
• Experience in behavioral health billing
• Knowledge of telehealth billing
