Job Description

Vacancy for Automation Engineer in Saudi Arabia - NonWoven Industry

1. BASIC RESPONSIBILITIES

Responsible for the concept, design, programming and testing of automated equipment and process that will complete production and assembly work within the plant facility.

2. RESPONSIBILITIES & AUTHORITIES

Main Tasks

1. Configure, program, test and troubleshoot PLC based control systems and associated components.

2. Configure, program, test and troubleshoot User Interface (UI) software for PLC based control systems.

3. Electrical design, testing, and commissioning of control systems, control panels, and associated equipment.

4. Documentation of PLC architecture and unit testing results.

5. Management of bug tracking and feature requests.

6. Support, update, and troubleshoot existing systems in production.

7. Support for systems installation and commissioning.

8. Design and test concepts for automating specified manufacturing and assembly processes.

9. Work with Manufacturing and Industrial Engineering to determine cost justification and return on investment of potential projects.

10. Work with suppliers and vendors to determine the selection of proper components.

11. Effectively and accurately document project progression and information

12. Must understand, comply and enforce all SAAF Environmental, Safety and Health policies and applicable government Regulations (OSHA, EPA, etc.)

13. Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and SAAF Standard

  • 1. Meet preventive maintenance plan
  • 2. MT unplanned downtime
  • 3. Total cost reduction

4. DYNAMICS / LIAISE

  • 1. Within the Department: Maintenance Manager Mechanical Team Leader, Electrical Team Leader
  • 2. With Other Departments: Production, Quality Assurance, Supply chain, Safety, HR/Admin
  • 3. With External Parties: Suppliers

5. EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • 1. Minimum Bachelor Degree in Automation, Electrical, Mechanical Engineering or related field
  • 2. Must have at least 5 years automation experience in a manufacturing environment
  • 3. Must be 30 years old or above

6. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITY

1. Intimate operating knowledge of all available processing equipment and processes

2. Knowledge of Nonwoven Fabrics production process and troubleshooting

3. Knowledge of Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs)

4. Ability to design, build, maintain, troubleshoot and study all aspects of machine control

5. Knowledge and experience with SolidWorks, SolidWorks Electrical, AutoCAD, AutoCAD Electrical

6. Current RIA Robotic Standards

7. Vision systems using Cognex, Data Logix, preferred OSHA requirements of building and designing machines

8. Understanding of computer programming and software development

9. Machining and metal working experience

10. Ability to solve problems of equipment and perform complex system tests

11. Demonstrated understanding of the principles and applications associated with manufacturing operations, maintenance and engineering.

12. Good interpersonal communication and listening ability.

13. Ability to work with teams and lead decision-making processes in a team environment

14. Fluency in English (reading and writing)

6. OTHER CHARACTERISTICS (WORKING CONDITIONS, PHYSICAL EFFORTS, ETC)

1. Exposure to noise, vibrations, humid, extreme weather conditions, and areas where hazardous chemicals are present

2. Must be able to work all shifts / schedules as needed

3. Ability to adapt to changing situations and to handle competing demands with flexibility

4. Must be able to climb stairs, stand, kneel, stoop, handle or lift, bend, squat, crawl, and walk constantly.

5. Requires the ability to communicate effectively using speech, vision and hearing.

6. Requires activities involving being around moving machinery.

Contract: 1 year contract, round flignt ticket to home country after contract completion

Other Job Details:

Work Schdule: 6 days a week, 8 hrs a day, overtime will be counted after 8 hrs

Basic: SAR 6000-8000, decided after interview

Housing Allow: 25% of the base salary

Transporation Allow: 10% of the basic salary, minimum SAR 750

Medical Insurnace: covered by the company

Iqama: covered by the company
