Job Summary: We are seeking a self-driven and highly experienced QA professional to lead testing efforts within our Verification & Validation (V&V) team. This is a hands-on role focused primarily on manual testing, with some exposure to automation, combined with leadership responsibilities such as mentoring engineers, defining quality strategies, and driving continuous improvement.
In this role, you will work on hardware devices such as ticket validators, gates, kiosks, and related systems, ensuring seamless integration with AFC (Automated Fare Collection) software platforms. The ideal candidate will bring strong technical expertise, domain knowledge, and the ability to lead and inspire a high-performing QA team.
Key Responsibilities
Test Planning & Design
- Analyze system requirements and create comprehensive test plans and test cases
- Define test scenarios for device-software integration, communication protocols, and transaction workflows
Test Execution (Manual & Functional)
- Perform functional, regression, system, and end-to-end testing
- Execute testing on devices and applications, including validators, gates, kiosks, and POS systems
- Validate system behavior under various conditions (e.g., network changes, power cycles, transaction flows)
API & Database Testing
- Perform API testing using tools like Postman/Swagger
- Validate data integrity and database interactions using SQL
Defect Management
- Identify, log, and track defects using tools such as JIRA/TestRail
- Collaborate with engineering and hardware teams to resolve issues efficiently
Compliance & Quality Assurance
- Ensure adherence to industry standards (e.g., ISO 14443, EMV)
- Validate security, reliability, and transaction integrity
Reporting & Collaboration
- Prepare test reports, dashboards, and status updates
- Work closely with cross-functional teams and customers
- Participate in test reviews and stakeholder discussions
Leadership & Mentorship
- Guide and mentor QA engineers
- Promote best practices in testing, traceability, and quality standards
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the QA function
Skills & Experience
Essential:
- 8+ years of experience in manual testing / QA, preferably in product environments
- Strong experience in device testing (mandatory)
- Hands-on experience in API testing (Postman, Swagger, etc.)
- Experience in database testing (SQL queries, data validation)
- Solid understanding of SDLC and testing methodologies
- Experience with test case design, execution, and defect management
- Familiarity with JIRA, TestRail, and Confluence
- Basic knowledge of Linux/Unix commands
Desirable:
- Experience in transport or automotive domain
- Knowledge of TCP/IP and serial communication protocols
- Exposure to Agile/Scrum methodologies
