Silaai is a platform-as-a-service application building a digital ecosystem for fashion professionals and customers to interact, collaborate, and transact seamlessly. We are focused on creating intuitive, scalable user experiences and are looking for a UX/UI Design Intern to contribute meaningfully to this journey.
Required Skills & Experience:
Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Design, UX/UI, Human-Computer Interaction, or a related field
Strong proficiency in Figma (primary tool); working knowledge of Adobe XD, Sketch, or Webflow is acceptable
Familiarity with tools like Miro or FigJam for mapping user flows and navigation
Understanding of core UX principles including wireframing, prototyping, and usability
Basic knowledge of responsive design for web and mobile interfaces
Strong attention to detail and structured design thinking
Ability to translate product requirements into clear, user-friendly interfaces
Comfortable working independently in a remote environment
Effective time management and communication skills
Nice to Have:
Prior experience with app or web-based design projects (academic or personal)
Exposure to design systems and component-based design
Understanding of interaction design and user behavior
Portfolio demonstrating structured UX thinking and visual design
Interest in platform-based or marketplace products
Responsibilities:
Understand and work with the existing navigation flow of the application and website
Design new screens aligned with evolving product requirements
Review and improve existing screens to enhance usability and clarity
Assist in maintaining and gradually evolving the design system
Create wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity designs
Collaborate with internal teams to ensure consistency across user journeys
Identify opportunities to improve user experience and interface efficiency

Internship Details:
Duration: 6 months
Time Commitment: 25 hours per week
Location: Remote
Compensation: Unpaid internship with structured learning, mentorship, and growth support
Working Model: Flexible hours with coordination during standard weekday working windows

Stage 1 & 2: CV and portfolio review + design assessment
Stage 3: Interaction focusing on UX thinking and approach
Stage 4: Final discussion with the founding team
