UX Designer / Researcher

Key Responsibilities

• Develop fluency in your portfolio's business strategy and the value proposition of the product(s) within your scope.
• Create wireframes and develop prototypes of design concepts based on a clear understanding of users, clients, and their desired outcomes and in accordance with interaction design best practices.
• Determine types of research needed on individual initiatives, develop research goals and plans, conduct and synthesize research.
• Utilize research insights to drive prioritization of product backlog and roadmap, align design work with product strategies and user experience insights/requirements.
• Execute product/project design deliverables in alignment with project timeline and roadmap milestones; take ownership of work product and perform daily tasks with autonomy.
• Participate in cross-disciplinary collaboration to facilitate innovation.
• Develop strong storytelling capabilities.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

REQUIRED PROFESSIONAL EXPERTISE

• A minimum of 3 years of experience in product or service design.
• A minimum of 3 years of experience in executing UX deliverables on design projects.
• A minimum of 2 years of experience in executing research deliverables on design projects.
• A minimum of 3 years of experience working with product managers and engineers.
• A minimum of 4 years of experience with design tools such as Figma, as well as analytics tools.
• Portfolio of projects that shows a breadth of complex, technically-oriented projects and demonstrates your skills as a UX designer and researcher.

REQUIRED TECHNICAL EXPERTISE

• Experienced-level UX design skills, including wireframing & prototyping.
• Experienced-level competency with common design and research tools, such as Figma, Alchemer, UserInterviews, and AirTable.
• Competency in defining and executing UX Metrics assessments.
• Competency with standard presentation programs Powerpoint & Keynote.

Preferred Technical and Professional Experience

PREFERRED PROFESSIONAL EXPERTISE

• At least 3 years of experience in prioritizing and delivering roadmaps as part of a development organization.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make data-driven decisions.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to articulate the value proposition of compilation technologies, communicate product requirements, and effectively engage with stakeholders at all levels.
• An understanding of and experience in product management principles, including market analysis, product roadmap development, feature prioritization, and stakeholder management.

PREFERRED TECHNICAL EXPERTISE

• Working knowledge of mainframe computer systems.
• Basic understanding of applications and architectures within the z/OS environment.
• Experience in developing applications on the z/OS platform, as well as experience and familiarity with the z/OS environment, tools, and development practices.
