US Payroll Functional Consultant
Overview
We are seeking an expert in US payroll with extensive experience in Payroll configuration and customization. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 4-6 years of experience in the design and configuration of the Payroll and Time module, including 2-3 full lifecycle implementations for US Payroll and Time. This role requires in-depth knowledge of US payroll, taxes, and compliance reporting, along with excellent communication skills and the ability to propose effective solutions for client business issues.
Key Responsibilities
- US Payroll Configuration: Configure and customize payroll for gross payroll, net payroll, tax reporter, and garnishments.
- System Implementation: Lead end-to-end implementation and support projects for US Payroll, ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing.
- Integration and Interfaces: Develop and manage integrations with Internal Database and interfaces, ensuring seamless data flow and system functionality.
- Schema and Rules Management: Configure and maintain payroll schemas, rules, and custom operations. Write PCRs and develop payroll functions and operations.
- Time Management: Implement and support positive and negative time management, including schema updates and time evaluation.
- Compliance and Reporting: Manage year-end activities, tax update bulletin application, compliance reporting for multiple countries, and HR service packs implementation and testing.
- Benefits and Finance Integration: Configure benefits and integrate with payroll. Post payroll to finance and manage wage type setups, including payment models and taxability.
- Support and Maintenance: Provide production support, conduct root cause analysis, and resolve issues related to configuration, development, data, and processes.
- Documentation and Training: Develop training materials, document payroll processes, and train HR and payroll staff on system usage.
- Provide end-to-end payroll functional consulting services to clients in the US
- Assist in the design, configuration, and implementation of payroll systems
- Analyze and review client payroll processes and recommend improvements
- Stay up-to-date with changes in US payroll laws and regulations and implement necessary changes to systems and processes
- Provide training and support to clients on payroll processes and systems
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure successful project delivery
Required Qualifications
- Experience: 4-6 years in US Payroll, with strong experience in gross-to-net calculations.
- Lifecycle Implementations: Minimum of 2-3 full lifecycle implementations for US Payroll and Time.
- Modules: Hands-on experience in SAP,ADP,Oracle Payroll-US, ESS, and SAP Time Module.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in payroll configuration, schema development, writing PCRs, and managing payroll functions and operations.
- Compliance: Extensive experience in compliance reporting and year-end testing.
- Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to address client business issues and objectives effectively.
Preferred Skills
- BSI Tax Factory: Configuration and maintenance, including tax update bulletin application and testing.
- Garnishment Configuration: Expertise in configuring garnishments within Payroll.
- Remuneration Statements: Configuration and testing of remuneration statements.
- Direct Deposit and Checks: Knowledge of direct deposit and check configurations.
- HR Service Packs: Implementation and testing experience.
- CATS: Proficiency in SAP CATS (Cross-Application Time Sheet)
Skills and Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 4-6 years of experience in US payroll functional consulting
- Strong understanding of US payroll laws and regulations
- Experience with payroll systems such as ADP, Paychex, and Workday
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
