Job Description

Key Responsibilities and Duties

Install and maintain OS security patches on the operational system across all SDLC environments, which includes but is not limited to: Red Hat Linux, AWS, Oracle Enterprise Linux (OEL) & Core OS.

Integrate all required software and resolve all issues across various technologies and design require enterprise servers and provide back up support.

Develop an infrastructure to provide support to all business requirements and perform regular troubleshoot on system to resolve all issues.

Monitor everyday systems and evaluate availability of all server resources and perform all activities for Linux servers.

Strong trouble shooting skills, ability to debug OS, Hardware & Patching issues.

Strong Production support exposure in dealing with live issues, working under pressure, experience on high end and low latency servers.

Ability to collaborate and drive troubleshooting sessions with other infrastructure and AppDev teams.

Provides technical guidance, oversight, and mentoring to team members as a subject matter expert.

Troubleshoots and restore complex issues through the use of technical abilities and tools.

Demonstrates high responsiveness for technology issues; resolves issues quickly and efficiently.

Conduct proactive analysis to determine if systems are performing optimally.

Drives problems to root cause analysis through partnership with Application Development and engineers, ensuring knowledge is captured for future events.

Implement and maintain OS vulnerability solutions supporting TIAA Cyber Security policies and guidelines.

High Availability - Possess working knowledge of Oracle RAC.

Support experience on VERITAS Volume manager (VXVM), SAN/NAS related infra-structure, tools and utilities.

Maintain and monitor all system framework and provide after call support to all systems and maintain optimal UNIX/Linux knowledge.

Provides 24X7 on call support to restore failed core infrastructure components, utilizing support tools and vendor support.

Design and maintain all system tools for all scripts and automation processes and monitor all capacity planning.

Provides disaster recovery support by testing, reviewing, and supporting disaster recovery plans on a routine basis.

Documentation - Evaluate all documents according to system requirements and evaluate all design and perform tests on all development activities and administer all complex methodologies.

Monitoring - Perform daily system monitoring, verifying integrity and availability of all hardware, server resources, systems and key processes, reviewing system and application logs etc.

Automation - Research, Innovate and recommend where possible, automating approaches for system administration tasks.

Qualifications

3 Years Required; 5 Years Preferred

University (Degree), Preferred

Preferred Education - University (Degree)

Required Skills

Minimum of 5+ years of experience as a UNIX system administrator managing servers in an enterprise environment consisting of 10,000 or more servers

Experienced as a system administrator installing, configuring and updating Linux, AWS, Public Cloud

Experience with configuring file systems using NetApp/EMC storage, Logical Volume Manager (LVM), Veritas Volume Manager

Experience in UNIX shell scripting, Ansible, or Python programming languages

Preferred Skills

Familiar with VMWare, NetApp NAS/SAN, LVM, Network

Familiar with and able to use Enterprise Management tools such as BigFix, Puppet, Ansible

Experience in LDAP / Active Directory Authentication, Multi-Factor Authentication protocols

Experience in supporting solution in public cloud or hybrid cloud environment, AWS, Azure, GCP, VMWare

Experience with Gitlab, Confluence, Jira tools

Certification - Redhat, AWS, Azure or any public cloud certification

Bachelor Of Technology (B.Tech/B.E), Masters in Technology (M.Tech/M.E)
