Primary Job Title: Hotel Unit Accountant
About The Opportunity
A professionally managed player in the Hospitality sector operating full-service hotels and F&B outlets across India. We deliver guest-centric service, multi-department operations (rooms, F&B, banqueting), and rigorous financial controls to maximise profitability and compliance at the property/unit level.
Role & Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day accounting for the hotel unit: post journal entries, maintain ledgers, and ensure timely recording of all revenue and expense transactions.
- Drive month-end and quarter-end closing activities: prepare trial balance, reconcile sub-ledgers (AR, AP, payroll, fixed assets), and produce accurate P&L and balance sheet schedules.
- Perform revenue reconciliations across POS/PMS systems (rooms, F&B, banquets, other operating revenues) and ensure timely posting of revenue and taxes.
- Ensure statutory compliance for GST, TDS, payroll-related filings, and assist with monthly tax provisions and returns.
- Support internal and external audits: prepare schedules, explain variances, and implement audit recommendations to strengthen internal controls.
- Prepare periodic MIS and operational reports for unit leadership and corporate finance (cost reports, variance analysis, cashflow updates) and suggest cost-control measures.
Skills & Qualifications
Must-Have
- B.Com or equivalent in Accounting/Finance with 1- 3 years of hotel or hospitality accounting experience
- Working knowledge of GST, TDS and India statutory compliance; experience with tax provisions and filings.
- Hands-on experience with ERP/PMS systems (Oracle OPERA, Tally, SAP, or similar) and reconciliations between POS/PMS and GL.
- Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables,lookups,conditional formulas) and comfort producing accurate MIS on tight deadlines.
- Excellent attention to detail, strong analytical mindset, and ability to meet month-end close timelines.
