Underwriting Team Leader (KYC &AML)

The Underwriter will be responsible for assessing and evaluating insurance applications, analyzing risk factors, determining policy terms, and reviewing insurance contracts. They will also collaborate with insurance agents and brokers to review applications and provide expert advice on underwriting policies.

Role Description

This is a full-time on-site role for an Underwriter at Policybazaar.com, located in Gurugram. The Underwriter will be responsible for assessing and evaluating insurance applications, analyzing risk factors, determining policy terms, and reviewing insurance contracts. They will also collaborate with insurance agents and brokers to review applications and provide expert advice on underwriting policies.

Qualifications

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to evaluate risk factors and make informed decisions
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
  • Effective communication and negotiation skills
  • Bachelors degree in Finance, Business Administration, Insurance, or a related field

Preferred Skills

Minimum of 4-7 years of experience in insurance underwriting, with a focus on KYC and AML compliance & Team handling with strength of 12-15 Members .

Required Skills

  • 2+ years of experience in a customer service role, with at least 2 year in a supervisory or team managerial capacity with team strength of 30 members
  • Strong leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize, and work in a fast-paced environment.

Proficiency in customer service software and tools (AHT/Attrition/Shrinkage/SLA/Utilization

/Occupancy/CSAT/DSAT)

  • Knowledge of performance metrics and customer service best practices.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in managing customer service teams in a call center or similar high-volume environment.
  • Familiarity with CRM systems and data analysis tools.

Bilingual or multilingual abilities are a plus.

Working Conditions:

Office environment with occasional remote work flexibility.

May require working outside of regular business hours, including evenings and weekends, to

meet customer needs.
