Outpace Consulting Services is seeking an experienced professional for the UK Taxation role within a leading ITES company's Finance and Accounting Outsourcing (FAO) team. This role focuses on managing end-to-end VAT compliance and reporting processes, primarily within a SAP environment. You'll be responsible for extracting and reconciling VAT data, posting tax-related journals, and preparing, filing, and submitting VAT returns for European jurisdictions. The position demands close coordination with internal and external stakeholders, strong analytical and organizational skills, and a commitment to continuous process improvement.
Key Responsibilities:
- VAT Data Management & Journaling: Extract VAT payable and receivable data from SAP, and prepare and post VAT/Tax related journals in SAP, transferring balances to the final VAT account.
- VAT Return Management: Take responsibility for the preparation, filing, and payment of VAT returns, including creating VAT packages for tax consultants and government authorities.
- Month-End & Reconciliation: Manage month-end VAT/Tax job streams/batch runs and reconcile month-end VAT/Tax accounts.
- European VAT Compliance: Perform monthly/quarterly VAT compliance tasks for various European countries, including reviewing invoices and other documentation for correct VAT treatment.
- Stakeholder Coordination: Work closely with regional and global controllers, senior finance, Corporate Tax teams, and other global members on all VAT-related matters. Coordinate with internal and external VAT auditors and tax authorities.
- Audit Support & Risk Management: Provide comprehensive VAT audit support, explain significant variances on monthly financials, and proactively identify areas for continuous improvement of controls and management of VAT risks.
- Process Improvement: Drive continuous improvement, automation, and streamlining initiatives, and be well-versed in creating process maps, SOPs, SIPOC, FMEA & process controls.
- Reporting & Validation: Perform pre-validations before final submission into the HFM tool and resolve any blocking issues. Prepare complex journals and balance sheet reconciliations.
Required Qualifications:
- Experience:Minimum 2 years of experience in a UK Taxation Role.
- Proven experience in the preparation, filing, and payment of VAT returns.
- Technical Skills:Hands-on experience in SAP ECC ERP system (mandatory).
- Confidence in using financial reporting systems, with proficiency in Microsoft Excel to extract, analyze, and reconcile data.
- Domain Knowledge: Ability to deal with international indirect tax issues and projects in a multi-tasking, multi-national organization.
- Skills: Strong analytical skills, excellent organizational abilities, and capable of supporting and guiding team members.
