About The Role

We are seeking a passionate and talented UI/UX Design Intern to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will work closely with our founding team to design and develop intuitive, user-centric interfaces for Kairos, our industrial AI platform. This internship offers a unique opportunity to contribute to a real-world product, gaining hands-on experience in end-to-end UI/UX design processes. As a UI/UX Design Intern, you will be responsible for translating user needs and business requirements into visually compelling and functional designs that enhance user experience and operational efficiency. You will be involved in creating user flows, wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity interfaces for both desktop and mobile platforms, ensuring clarity and speed are prioritized for industrial field technicians operating in challenging environments.

Qualifications

To be successful in this role, candidates should possess a working knowledge of Figma, including proficiency in creating components, utilizing auto layout, and developing interactive prototypes. A basic understanding of UX principles such as information architecture, visual hierarchy, typography, and accessibility is essential. Candidates should have a portfolio showcasing their UI/UX work, demonstrating their design process from concept to final product—personal projects or student work are equally valued. The ability to clearly articulate design decisions and collaborate effectively with team members is crucial. Candidates must be available to dedicate five days a week for the entire three-month internship period and should be eager to learn and grow within a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

The selected intern will undertake a variety of responsibilities to support the development of Kairos user interface, including:

• Creating user flows, wireframes, and interactive prototypes in Figma to visualize and test design ideas.
• Designing high-fidelity interfaces optimized for desktop and mobile devices, ensuring usability and clarity.
• Focusing on designing interfaces for field technicians working in industrial environments, where ease of use and rapid information retrieval are critical.
• Developing and maintaining reusable components in Figma to ensure visual consistency across the platform.
• Preparing detailed, developer-ready handoffs and reviewing the implemented interfaces to ensure fidelity to the designs.
• Participating in design reviews, team discussions, and iterations based on feedback to refine and improve the user experience.
