- EST Shift: This role operates on Eastern Standard Time (EST, UTC-5) to align with North American client operations. The standard shift is 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM EST, Monday to Friday (with potential for weekends or on-call duties based on business needs).
- IST Equivalent Shift: Due to the time difference (IST is UTC+5:30, approximately 10.5 hours ahead of EST), the corresponding working hours in Indian Standard Time (IST) are 7:30 PM to 3:30 AM IST. This is a night shift to ensure real-time coordination with North American trucking fleets and clients.

Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Truck Dispatcher to manage and coordinate trucking operations for our North American clients from our Noida office. The role involves scheduling, routing, and monitoring truck deliveries across the US and Canada, ensuring efficient logistics while adhering to regulatory standards like FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) guidelines. As part of an offshore team, you will work in sync with EST business hours, handling real-time communications and problem-solving to optimize fleet performance and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor and dispatch trucks in real-time using GPS tracking systems, ELD (Electronic Logging Devices), and dispatch software (e.g., TMS - Transportation Management Systems).
- Coordinate with drivers, clients, and third-party vendors to assign loads, plan routes, and resolve issues such as delays, breakdowns, or route deviations.
- Ensure compliance with North American transportation regulations, including hours-of-service (HOS) rules, weight limits, and safety protocols.
- Optimize load assignments to maximize efficiency, reduce fuel costs, and minimize empty miles.
- Handle customer inquiries via phone, email, or chat, providing updates on shipment status and ETA.
- Maintain accurate records of dispatches, driver logs, and delivery confirmations in the company's database.
- Troubleshoot emergencies, such as weather-related disruptions or mechanical failures, and arrange alternatives like rerouting or backup drivers.
- Collaborate with the North American operations team during EST hours to align on daily priorities and report on key metrics (e.g., on-time delivery rates).
- Generate daily/weekly reports on fleet performance and identify areas for improvement.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- 2+ years of experience in truck dispatching, logistics coordination, or a similar role, preferably with exposure to North American trucking industry.
- Familiarity with US/Canada geography, major highways (e.g., I-95, Trans-Canada Highway), and regional regulations.
- Proficiency in dispatch software (e.g., Samsara, Trimble, or similar TMS platforms) and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel for reporting).
- Strong communication skills in English, with the ability to handle phone calls and professional emails effectively.
- Willingness to work night shifts (IST equivalent) to support EST operations; must be adaptable to time zone differences.
- Basic knowledge of North American trucking terms, such as CDL (Commercial Driver's License), DOT (Department of Transportation) inspections, and broker-carrier dynamics.
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment, with strong problem-solving and multitasking skills.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with North American clients or in a BPO/KPO setting handling US logistics.
- Certification in logistics (e.g., Certified in Logistics, Transportation and Distribution - CLTD) is a plus.
- Knowledge of EDI (Electronic Data Interchange) for load tendering and invoicing.
- Analytical mindset for route optimization using tools like Google Maps or specialized routing software.
