Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Transport Operations Management -Oversee daily transportation activities, including scheduling, route planning, and coordination of transport services to ensure timely and cost-effective deliveries.
  • Fleet Management - Manage the companys vehicle fleet, including scheduling regular maintenance, monitoring vehicle performance, and ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory standards.
  • Vendor Coordination - Liaise with external transport providers and vendors, negotiating contracts, managing relationships, and ensuring service levels meet company requirements.
  • Logistics Support - Coordinate logistics activities to support internal and external transportation needs, including handling special transportation requests and troubleshooting issues.
  • Documentation and Reporting - Maintain accurate records of transportation activities, including vehicle logs, maintenance schedules, and transportation costs. Prepare and present reports on transport operations and performance.
  • Compliance and Safety - Ensure adherence to all relevant transportation regulations, safety standards, and company policies. Conduct safety audits and implement corrective actions as necessary.
  • Cost Management - Monitor transportation expenses, analyze cost data, and identify opportunities for cost savings and efficiency improvements.
  • Team Coordination - Supervise and support transport staff, including training, performance management, and ensuring adherence to operational procedures.
  • Problem Resolution - Address and resolve transportation-related issues and discrepancies promptly, ensuring minimal disruption to operations and customer service.

What Were Looking For:

  • 7-8 years of experience in transportation or logistics management, with a strong background in fleet management and operations support.

Skills:

  • Extensive knowledge of transportation regulations, safety standards, and best practices.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Ability to analyze data, prepare reports, and make informed decisions.
  • Proven track record of managing teams and coordinating with external vendors.
