Job Description

We're hiring a Transmission Line Designer to join our team in either Mumbai or Bangalore. In this role, you'll be responsible for the drafting and design of transmission lines, handling projects of varying complexity. You'll work independently but with guidance from engineers, preparing detailed drawings and ensuring all designs meet compliance standards. The ideal candidate is a proficient CADD designer with experience in the power industry and a strong commitment to quality and collaboration.

Key Responsibilities

  • Drafting and Design: Prepare engineering drawings, including Plan Profile, permitting, and assembly drawings. You'll use CADD systems to create both rough sketches and detailed work, incorporating markups and feedback from engineers.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with the engineering team to review, prepare, and redraw designs. You'll also participate in technical meetings with clients and communicate any potential design issues to the team.
  • Project Management: Take full ownership of your assigned work, handling multiple projects simultaneously and prioritizing tasks effectively. You'll ensure that all final designs are compliant with industry regulations.
  • Documentation: Prepare material lists and other necessary reports to support the engineering team.

Required Qualifications

  • Education and Experience: A Diploma in Civil/Electrical Engineering with 1-10 years of experience or an ITI in Civil/Electrical with 3-10 years of experience as a CADD designer.
  • Technical Skills: You must have a minimum of 3 years of experience with the Microsoft Office Suite and AutoCAD. Knowledge of other CADD tools like MicroStation, Google Earth, Revit, or Civil3D is a plus.
  • Domain Knowledge: A background in overhead transmission line construction methods and knowledge of survey, easements, right-of-way, and permitting is preferred.
  • Personal Attributes: You must be proficient in English, with proven verbal and written communication skills. The ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously and a flexible attitude to work in different roles are essential for success.
