Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Complete tasks on time, within budget and quality standards set by the team lead
  • Collaborate with project teams to develop solutions aligned with client and regulatory standards
  • Ensure design outputs are checked and coordinated with other disciplines
  • Prepare detailed engineering reports, specifications, and construction documents
  • Work both independently and within a team
  • Follow Mott MacDonald's quality standard procedures
  • Stay updated with trends and developments in traffic signalling engineering


Qualifications

Education:

  • Bachelor's or Postgraduate degree in Electrical / Civil Engineering or equivalent
  • Member of a recognized institution

Experience & Skills (Essential):

  • 4+ years of post-graduate experience in traffic signals design
  • Knowledge of UK Traffic Signals standards and guidance
  • Experience in traffic modelling software
  • Worked on traffic signal projects as part of a team
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD, KeySignals
  • Prepared traffic signal studies, reports, and timing plans
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills
  • Interpersonal skills for team collaboration
  • Experience with 3D design and BIM software

Desirable:

  • Experience with traffic signal controller specification/programming (UTC/SCOOT/MOVA)
  • Experience working with global teams


Job Profile

  • Experience delivering traffic signals projects to time, cost, and quality
  • Coordination of the design process
  • Experience in feasibility, preliminary, and detailed design
  • Proficiency in modelling tools like LinSig or regional equivalents
  • Preferred experience in microprocessor controller programming and system specification (UTC/SCOOT/MOVA)
