Overview: Performs operational support for tradefinance products, primarily commercial and standby letters of credit (LCs) and documentary collections, in accordance with Uniform Customs and Practice (UCP600), International Standby Practices (ISP98) and AntiMoneyLaundering (AML) rules.
Key Responsibilities
- Issue, advise and amend import/export LCs; process standby LCs and guarantees.
- Examine shipping documents (invoices, bills of lading, insurance certificates) to ensure compliance with LC terms.
- Generate and process SWIFT message types (e.g., MT700, MT707, MT734) for trade payments and amendments.
- Register transactions in the bank's tradefinance system and monitor settlement through FED/CHIPS.
- Perform sanctions screening and transactionlevel duediligence; liaise with compliance on OFAC/AML alerts.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in finance or international business; 24years in US tradefinance operations.
- Solid understanding of UCP600/ISP98 rules, SWIFT message formats and tradedocumentation requirements.
- Experience with tradefinance platforms and payment systems; strong documentreview and compliance skills.
