Your role and responsibilities

In this role, you will have the opportunity to ensure that local businesses in assigned areas conduct their activities in line with ABB trade policies and guidelines and to implement ABB's Global Trade Program. Each day, you will be responsible to ensure compliance with import/export-related trade regulations at a local level. You will also showcase your expertise by creating, documenting, and maintaining procedures and guidelines for export control and sanctions, as well as customs compliance requirements.

The work model for the role is: #Li-Onsite

This role is contributing to the Electrification business in Distribution Solution division at Nashik, India.

You will be mainly accountable for:
  • Providing periodic updates to the relevant stakeholders on the status of the local implementation of ABB's Global Trade Program and significant changes in export control and customs laws/regulations.
  • Implementing and maintaining a general export control and customs compliance awareness program for local business staff and providing trade-related training to employees (particularly in cases of delegated export control responsibilities).
  • Facilitating seamless connection between trade compliance and day-to-day operations, including master data requirements, supplier qualifications, etc., in collaboration with staff in the assigned area.
  • Conducting local trade reviews and/or annual self-audits with respect to trade compliance, identifying improvement areas, and taking corrective actions.
Qualifications for the role
  • Bachelors or Masters Degree in Commerce (should be full-time)
  • Minimum 8 to 12 years of experience in export operations, compliance and statutory requirements, relationship management, and trade finance & payment resolution
  • Experience in commercial activities, receivables, pre/post documentation, and compliance with Tax, Customs, DGFT, FEMA/RBI, and port authorities. Skilled in working with supply chain partners, freight forwarders, customs brokers, shipping companies, CHAs, and government agencies, including coordination of L/C releases.
  • Strong background in managing documentation and compliance processes across international trade operations.
  • Proficiency in SAP HANA, BW Tool (Business Warehouse), and MS Office package.
  • Should have excellent communication skills
