Overview
The Compensation & Benefits Lead for India is responsible for setting direction, governance, and execution of all Total Rewards programs across the India region. This includes annual rewards cycles, statutory and voluntary benefits, pay governance, job architecture, budgeting, systems, and analytics.
The lead ensures RealPage maintains competitive, equitable, and compliant compensation and benefits offerings while aligning India's programs with RealPage's global Total Rewards philosophy and business goals. This role serves as an advisor to HR and business leaders and is accountable for the effectiveness, efficiency, and employee experience of all rewards programs in India.
Responsibilities
WHAT YOU'LL DO
Compensation Strategy & Leadership
- Define a fair, equitable, and competitive total compensation package aligned with RealPage's strategy and business goals.
- Develop, implement, and govern compensation policies in our India center, ensuring consistency and alignment with organizational culture and objectives.
- Lead annual compensation cycles including merit and promotions.
- Partner with global Total Rewards to ensure India programs align with global frameworks and governance. This includes conducting benchmarking, market analysis and job evaluations.
Benefits Strategy & Program Management
- Lead, define and oversee benefits policies across employee bands and levels to ensure competitiveness, compliance, and cost-effectiveness.
- Partner with brokers and external consultants to assess, design, and implement innovative benefits that enhance employee wellbeing.
- Review, monitor, and optimize benefits programs (health, retirement, statutory, wellness, allowances) and also ensure alignment to global RealPage benefit philosophy.
- Ensure adherence to Indian statutory requirements (PF, ESIC, gratuity, leave laws, etc.).
Policy & Process Ownership
- Regularly review compensation and benefits policies to reflect emerging regulations and market trends.
- Standardize policies across India offices and maintain strong governance controls.
- Lead job evaluation, classification, and banding processes.
Training, Communication & Advisory
- Train business leaders on compensation and benefits policies and guide decision-making with clear frameworks.
- Help develop communication strategies to ensure employees understand and value their total rewards.
- Serve as a trusted advisor for escalations, complex pay scenarios, and policy interpretation.
- Help drive transparent communication of reward programs to build understanding and engagement.
HRIS, Reporting & Analytics
- Oversee preparation of compensation and benefits analytics, dashboards, and MIS reports for leadership review.
- Use data to identify trends, risks, compression, inequities, and opportunities for improvement.
- Ensure accuracy of HRIS compensation data and partner with payroll and HR systems teams as needed.
Budgeting, Forecasting & Auditing
- Lead budgeting and forecasting for all benefits programs in India.
- Ensure compliance through periodic audits, internal reviews, and proactive risk management.
- Manage workforce cost modeling for hiring, transfers, and organization changes.
Required
Qualifications
- 10+ years of HR experience with specialization in Compensation & Benefits.
- Strong experience in rewards programs for large, multi-location India operations with experience in IT and Engineering roles a plus.
- Deep understanding of India compensation structures, market surveys, job architecture, and statutory benefits.
- Demonstrated expertise running compensation cycles and benefits renewals.
Preferred
- Experience working in a global company with matrix reporting.
- Certifications such as CCP, CBP, or similar.
- Advanced analytical skills and proficiency in Excel, HRIS platforms, and compensation systems.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and influencing skills.
