Job Description

Batch Preparation & Operation

  • Operate automated batch plant systems to prepare glass batches as per production schedule.
  • Ensure correct proportions of raw materials based on formulation and SOPs.
  • Monitor batching sequence and timing for materials like sand, soda ash, dolomite, etc.

Material Handling & Inventory

  • Check availability of raw materials in bins and coordinate with stores for replenishment.
  • Maintain accurate records of material consumption and batch production.

Process Monitoring & Control

  • Monitor plant parameters (weight, timing, sequence) and adjust settings as needed.
  • Identify and troubleshoot process deviations or equipment malfunctions.

Quality Assurance

  • Ensure batches meet required specifications for glass production.
  • Coordinate with Quality Control for sampling and corrective actions.

Safety & Compliance

  • Follow all safety protocols during material handling and plant operation.
  • Maintain housekeeping and comply with environmental regulations.

Reporting & Documentation

  • Log batch data, downtime, and maintenance activities in system records.
  • Report any issues to the supervisor promptly.
