Textile Designer creates original patterns, colors, and textures for fabrics used in clothing, home furnishings, and accessories, using skills in sketching, CAD software, and trend research to develop designs for printing, weaving, or knitting, while collaborating with production teams to ensure quality, cost-effectiveness, and timely delivery, balancing creativity with technical feasibility and market trends.
Key Responsibilities:Design Creation: Develop original concepts, sketches, and digital patterns (prints, weaves, knits) for various textiles.Trend Research: Stay updated on fashion, color, and material trends through trade shows, museums, and market analysis.Software Proficiency: Utilize CAD software (like Adobe Creative Cloud) for design, repeats, and color variations.Material Selection: Choose appropriate fabrics, colors, and textures for specific products (e.g., lightweight for apparel, durable for upholstery).Collaboration: Work with production, marketing, and buying teams, and present designs to clients.Production Oversight: Monitor sampling and production to ensure color accuracy, quality, and consistency.Technical Adaptation: Adapt designs for different manufacturing processes and scales, understanding production limitations.
