Job Description

  • Education: Any graduate degree from a recognized institution.
  • Experience: 5–12 years of overall IT/QA experience with a minimum of 5 years of relevant, hands-on experience in Test Environment Management (TEM/TEMS) for medium to large-scale projects.
  • Core Expertise in TEM/TEMS: - Proven experience designing and implementing TEM/TEMS approaches using industry tools and frameworks. - Strong understanding of environment lifecycles across development, testing, and pre-production stages. - Demonstrated ability to manage multiple test environments and coordinate across parallel releases and projects.
  • Technical & Process Skills: - Solid understanding of QA processes, test cycles, and their environment needs. - Experience working with cross-functional teams (QA, Dev, Ops, Infra) in a structured SDLC or Agile environment. - Strong analytical, problem-solving, and incident management skills related to environment issues.
  • Lead Test Environment Strategy & Governance: Define, implement, and maintain a comprehensive TEM/TEMS strategy aligned with organizational QA and release objectives for complex applications and systems.
  • Design & Implement TEMS Approach: Own the design and end-to-end implementation of the TEMS approach using appropriate tools and frameworks, ensuring traceability, repeatability, and scalability of environments.
  • Environment Provisioning & Configuration: Oversee provisioning, configuration, and maintenance of test environments (integration, system, UAT, performance) to ensure they are stable, consistent, and fit for purpose.
  • Environment Scheduling & Conflict Management: Manage environment bookings, usage calendars, and conflict resolution between multiple projects and test streams, optimizing utilization and minimizing downtime.
  • Coordination with Cross-Functional Teams: Collaborate with development, QA, DevOps, infrastructure, and release management teams to align environment needs, dependencies, and release timelines.
  • Environment Monitoring & Issue Resolution: Establish monitoring mechanisms for environment health; lead root-cause analysis and resolution of environment-related defects, outages, and data issues.
  • Test Data & Configuration Management: Work with stakeholders to define and manage test data strategies, environment configuration baselines, and refresh cycles to support various testing phases.
  • Process Standardization & Documentation: Develop and maintain standard operating procedures, environment runbooks, and configuration documentation for all test environments.
  • Risk & Impact Assessment: Assess risks related to environment changes, outages, and dependencies; provide impact analysis and mitigation plans to stakeholders and leadership.
  • Stakeholder Communication & Reporting: Provide clear, regular reporting on environment status, capacity, risks, and improvements to project managers, QA leads, and senior leadership.
  • Continuous Improvement & Automation: Identify opportunities to automate environment provisioning, configuration, and validation using TEM/TEMS tools and best practices.
  • Team Leadership & Mentoring: Guide and mentor junior team members on TEM/TEMS practices, fostering a culture of ownership, collaboration, and quality.
