Key Responsibilities

Product Validation & DVP&R

  • Develop and own Design Verification Plans & Reports (DVP&R) aligned with product requirements, standards, and engineering intent.
  • Plan and execute mechanical functional, durability, lifecycle, performance, and environmental tests.
  • Ensure full traceability between requirements, DVP&R and compliance with applicable regulatory and industry standards.
  • Review, approve, and present test reports and validation summaries.

Test Fixture & Rig Development

  • Lead the design, development, and validation of mechanical test fixtures, jigs, and automated test rigs.
  • Create and review CAD designs ensuring accuracy, repeatability, safety, and test intent alignment.
  • Define fixture and instrumentation needs early in the DVP&R phase.
  • Support BOM creation, vendor coordination, fabrication, assembly, and commissioning.
  • Drive continuous improvement of fixtures and rigs based on test data, failures, and design evolution

Measurement, Data Logging & Instrumentation (Hands-On)

  • Perform hands-on setup and configuration of measurement and data acquisition systems, including DEWESoft or equivalent DAQ platforms.
  • Select, integrate, and validate sensors such as load cells, strain gauges, displacement, torque, pressure, and temperature sensors.
  • Define sampling rates, channel configurations, filtering, triggering, and synchronization to ensure high‑quality data capture.
  • Ensure measurement accuracy through calibration, system validation, and troubleshooting of signal issues.

Automation & Test Systems

  • Define functional and performance requirements for PLC‑controlled and automated test systems, and collaborate with automation engineers to develop, troubleshoot, and optimize PLC logic.
  • Integrate PLC controls with DAQ and data‑logging systems to enable synchronized testing and measurement.
  • Ensure reliability, repeatability, and safe operation of all test equipment.

Data Analysis & Root Cause Analysis

  • Identify failure mechanisms using measurement data, instrumentation feedback, and physical inspection.
  • Analyze test data to identify trends, degradation behaviour, and failure modes.
  • Lead root cause analysis (RCA) using structured problem-solving methods (5‑Why, Fishbone, DFMEA, etc.).
  • Correlate laboratory test data with field performance and engineering feedback.

Cross‑Functional Collaboration & Lab Ownership

  • Partner with Product Design teams to support Design for Test (DFT) and validation readiness.
  • Provide validation input to DFMEA and risk assessments.
  • Own lab equipment, test rigs, instrumentation, and DAQ systems.
