Role: Test Engineer - On Road Validation

Location: Product validation Lab - Begur / Corporate office, Bangalore (IBC)

Reporting to: On Road Validation Team

Team name: E&E Reliability, E Powertrain & Vehicle Attributes Testing

About The Team And The Role

The E&E Reliability, E Powertrain & Vehicle Attributes Testing team at Ather is responsible for validating all electrical and electronic components, ensuring functionality and durability through rigorous testing and troubleshooting of the test fleet.

This role is for a Test Engineer - On Road Validation who will be responsible for documenting DTC history, conducting root cause analysis, and validating the AtherStack software end-to-end to ensure a seamless fleet release and high-quality customer experience.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot DTCs within the test fleet and conduct thorough RSA/RCA to document and present diagnostic history.
  • Maintain the test fleet by managing OTA updates and reporting non-conformances or observed DTCs.
  • Validate all vehicle Electrical and Electronics components to identify functionality or durability issues.
  • Execute end-to-end AtherStack validation from a customer perspective within specified timelines for fleet release.
  • Develop and conduct agile test cases while providing daily briefings to the testing team.
  • Collaborate with Quality, Software Development, Product Management, and SQA teams for bug fixes and build reviews.
  • Draft and sign off on Design Validation and Verification Plans specifically for AtherStack, Mobile App, and Ather Grid.
  • Perform ORD test data analysis, manage data, and develop new automations for testing and analysis processes.

Experience And Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Automotive, Mechanical, Electrical, or equivalent engineering streams.
  • 4-6 years of experience in Automotive Software, Control, or Embedded system validation within the EV/ICE/2W/4W industry.

Must Have Competencies

  • Proficiency in CAN debugging and interpretation for vehicle data analysis.
  • Comprehensive understanding of Automotive Control Systems, Autotronics, and EV Architecture.
  • Ability to write SQL queries and develop vehicle performance and utilization dashboards.
  • Proficiency in diagnosing electrical failures using tools such as oscilloscopes and IR meters.

Good to Have Competencies

  • Technical understanding of UDS diagnostic procedures and ISO26262 Functional Safety Standards.
  • Ability to automate testing and data analysis through programming.
  • Proficiency in using automotive simulation and analysis tools like CANoe and CANalyzer.
  • Experience with On Road Test procedures and data management using tools like Superset and Click-house SQL.
