Job overview

We're looking for a skilled Adobe InDesign Template Developer with strong publishing experience to design and build professional, user-friendly templates for our content and marketing needs. As an InDesign Template Developer, you'll create structured, efficient, and visually consistent templates used across books, reports, brochures, and other marketing materials.

Key responsibilities

  • Template Creation: Design and develop InDesign templates for books, brochures, reports, and marketing materials.
  • Publishing Workflows: Work with XML-to-InDesign workflows for automated content publishing.
  • Customization: Modify and enhance existing templates to align with client requirements and brand standards.
  • Quality Control: Ensure templates are intuitive, flexible, and accessible for users at various skill levels.
  • Documentation: Maintain clear guidelines and best practices for using and customizing templates.

Essential skills

  • 3+ years experience in Adobe InDesign template development.
  • Strong understanding of publishing workflows and print production.
  • Experience with XML workflows and structured content.
  • Solid grasp of typography, layout design, and brand consistency.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines effectively.

Preferred Skills (Nice to have)

  • Knowledge of GREP styles for advanced formatting.
  • Basic scripting abilities (InDesign automation).
  • Familiarity with accessibility standards and PDF compliance.

Work schedule

  • Full-time, 5.5 days from Monday to Saturday
  • Occasional availability for urgent queries outside office hours may be required.
