Job Description: Storage Operations Engineer

As a Storage Operations Engineer, you will be responsible for supporting the operations and managing the delivery for production systems and services, ensuring that they meet operational requirements and service agreements. You will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth functioning of systems and provide timely support to resolve any operational issues that arise.

Your role will also involve collaboration with various teams and stakeholders to ensure efficient operations and delivery. Additionally, you will contribute to process improvements and help enhance overall system performance and reliability.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Subject Matter Expert (SME): Expected to act as an SME in storage operations, collaborate, and manage the team to ensure optimal performance.
  • Decision Making: Take responsibility for team decisions, ensuring alignment with operational goals.
  • Cross-Team Collaboration: Engage with multiple teams and contribute to key decisions impacting operational performance.
  • Operational Support: Ensure the smooth functioning of production systems and services.
  • Timely Issue Resolution: Provide prompt support to resolve operational issues, ensuring minimal downtime and service disruption.
  • Process Improvement: Contribute to the improvement of operational processes and systems to enhance overall performance and reliability.
  • Service Delivery Management: Manage the delivery of production systems in accordance with operational requirements and service agreements.

Professional & Technical Skills:

Must-Have Skills:

  • Storage Technologies & Products: Proficiency in technologies such as Nasuni, NetAPP, Isilon, and AWS/Azure Native Storage.
  • System Administration: Strong experience with system administration and troubleshooting of production systems.

Good-to-Have Skills:

  • Cloud Platforms: Experience with cloud platforms such as Azure and AWS will be beneficial.

Professional Experience:

  • Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively connect with customers at various organizational levels.
  • Decision Making: Ability to operate independently and make decisions with minimal direct supervision.
  • Flexible Schedule: Must be flexible to work in a 24/7 shift environment to support operations and service delivery.
  • Collaboration: Comfortable with collaboration, open communication, and engaging across functional borders.
  • Presentation Skills: Intermediate skills in MS PowerPoint for presenting data and operational insights.

Educational Qualification:

  • Bachelor's Degree (or equivalent) in Business or Technology (preferred).
