Role Overview
We are looking for an experienced Oracle Technology Engineer to support complex enterprise technology and banking projects. The role focuses on Oracle database administration, high availability environments, and automation of repetitive DBA tasks using modern DevOps and infrastructure automation tools.
This is a high-impact, hands-on role involving multiple concurrent projects in a fast-paced, production-critical environment. The position requires strong ownership, technical depth, and the ability to work under pressure, including occasional out-of-hours and weekend support.
Key Responsibilities
- Administer and support Oracle databases in large-scale enterprise environments
- Manage and support high availability setups using Oracle RAC and Data Guard
- Automate routine and repetitive DBA activities using Ansible, Git, Jenkins, Terraform, and Groovy
- Perform database patching, upgrades, and migrations
- Monitor and manage databases using Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM)
- Handle backup, recovery, and disaster recovery using RMAN
- Perform database performance tuning and troubleshooting
- Support Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) and AWS-based database deployments
- Work closely with application, infrastructure, and DevOps teams in Agile delivery models
- Provide production support, including out-of-hours and weekend work when required
Required Technical Skills
Oracle Database & Core DBA :
- Strong expertise in Oracle Database Administration
- Hands-on experience with :
- Oracle RAC
- Oracle Data Guard
- RMAN
- Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM)
- Strong experience in database patching, upgrades, and migrations
- Excellent skills in performance tuning and troubleshooting
Cloud & Automation
- Strong hands-on experience with:
- Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI)
- AWS
- Experience in automation and configuration management using Ansible
- Version control using Git
- Good exposure to CI/CD tools such as Jenkins
- Working knowledge of Terraform and Groovy (preferred)
Operating Systems & Scripting
- Strong working knowledge of Unix/Linux operating systems
- Good scripting skills in Bash and/or Python
- Working knowledge of SQL and PL/SQL
Process & Methodologies
- Experience working in Agile / DevOps environments
- Ability to manage multiple parallel projects effectively
- Familiarity with enterprise change, release, and incident management processes
Education & Certifications
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science or related discipline (Essential)
- Relevant Oracle / Cloud certifications (Desirable)
- Banking or financial services domain experience (Desirable)
