About this role:
Wells Fargo is seeking a seasoned technology leader with extensive experience in managing electronic trading platforms. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in low latency systems, global team collaboration, and a strong understanding of FX, Rates, and Credit Derivatives. This role supports global trading desks and requires a strategic mindset combined with hands-on technical leadership.
In this role, you will:
Manage a team of engineering managers and engineering leads
Focus on delivering commitments aligned to enterprise strategic priorities
Build support for strategies with business and technology leaders
Guide development of actionable roadmaps and plans
Identify opportunities and strategies for continuous improvement of software engineering practices
Provide oversight to software craftsmanship, security, availability, resilience, and scalability of solutions developed by the teams or third-party providers
Identify financial management and strategic resourcing
Set risk management guidelines and partner with stakeholders to implement key risk initiatives
Develop strategies for hiring engineering talent
Lead implementation of projects and encourage engineering innovation
Collaborate and influence all levels of professionals including more experienced managers
Lead team to achieve objectives
Interface with external agencies, regulatory bodies or industry forums
Manage allocation of people and financial resources for Technology Strategic Leadership
Develop and guide a culture of talent development to meet business objectives and strategy
Required Qualifications:
8+ years of Technology Strategic Leadership experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
4+ years of management or leadership experience
Desired Qualifications:
8+ years deep experience and significant expertise in low latency and high-performance engineering using C++, Java, Python & Unix building low latency trading platforms and providing technical and thought leadership across all aspects of the SDLC
Experience across multiple asset classes including but not limited to FX, Rates, Credit, Munis's, EQ
Comfortable working in global environment where the team is geographically distributed.
Capable of working across all levels of the org including MD's, regional COO's, product team, platform support, compliance, and operational risk.
Able to operate independently and at all levels of the organization including interacting with non-technical staff.
Passionate and recognized expert in the agile development process and DevOps practices including build, test, and release automation. Able to clearly articulate the benefits of scaled agile and automation to improve engineering quality and velocity
Experience of managing large complex multi-region build outs from the ground up including data center, network, and software architecture.
Excellent communication skills and stakeholder management. Strategic collaborator at a global level. Able to problem solve complex multi geography issues at a macro and detail level.
Experience of operating in a highly regulated environment. Able to identify and articulate risks & concerns.
Hands on experience and SME in
FIX, other binary protocols, data pipelines
Order/Execution Management, SOR, algo's, EMS
Venue Connectivity
Market Data, Tick data & machine learning models
Scaled Agile & CICD/Dev Ops
Highly distributed, multi-threaded & multi-core architectures, low latency engineering
Strong understanding of FX, Rates, and Credit Derivatives instruments and their trading workflows.
Experience supporting global trading desks and managing cross-regional delivery.
Familiarity with market data feeds, pricing engines, and risk systems.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

Lead the design, development, and support of electronic trading platforms across FX, Rates, and Credit Derivatives.
Drive performance optimization and latency reduction across trading systems.
Collaborate with global teams across APAC, EMEA, and Americas to ensure seamless platform delivery and support.
Partner with traders, quants, and product managers to align technology with business goals.
Ensure platform stability, scalability, and compliance with regulatory standards.
Manage vendor relationships and oversee integration with third-party trading platforms.
Provide technical mentorship and leadership to engineering teams.
