About this role:

Wells Fargo is seeking a Technology Director - GEN AI Product Lead


In this role, you will:

  • Manage a team of engineering managers and engineering leads
  • Focus on delivering commitments aligned to enterprise strategic priorities
  • Build support for strategies with business and technology leaders
  • Guide development of actionable roadmaps and plans
  • Identify opportunities and strategies for continuous improvement of software engineering practices
  • Provide oversight to software craftsmanship, security, availability, resilience, and scalability of solutions developed by the teams or third-party providers
  • Identify financial management and strategic resourcing
  • Set risk management guidelines and partner with stakeholders to implement key risk initiatives
  • Develop strategies for hiring engineering talent
  • Lead implementation of projects and encourage engineering innovation
  • Collaborate and influence all levels of professionals including more experienced managers
  • Lead team to achieve objectives
  • Interface with external agencies, regulatory bodies or industry forums
  • Manage allocation of people and financial resources for Technology Strategic Leadership
  • Develop and guide a culture of talent development to meet business objectives and strategy


Required Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of Technology Strategic Leadership experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
  • 4+ years of management or leadership experience


Desired Qualifications:

Core Tech Expertise

  • Good understanding of GenAI technologies (LLMs, RAG, prompt engineering, vector databases, model fine‑tuning, evaluation frameworks).
  • Experience leading enterprise AI product roadmaps, preferably in large-scale or regulated environments.
  • Ability to evaluate and select AI models, frameworks, and vendors based on cost, capability, risk, and long-term strategy.

Product Leadership

  • Ability to translate business outcomes into AI‑driven product strategies and ROI models.
  • Experience prioritizing features using data-driven decision-making and measurable KPIs.
  • Strong stakeholder management across tech, business, risk, legal, and operations.

Leadership & Collaboration

  • Experience leading cross-functional teams: principal engineers, SMEs, product owners
  • Ability to mentor teams on AI adoption and agile delivery.
  • Executive communication skills, including presenting strategy to senior leadership.

Job Expectations:

  • A high level of curiosity and outside-in perspective on the fast evolving AI Agentic and Model ecosystem
  • Come up with the product roadmap and Go-to Market strategy for the GenAI Platform features
  • Drive delivery through engineering leadership teams, ensuring secure, scalable, high‑quality solutions.
  • Partner with senior business, risk, and tech stakeholders to enable responsible AI adoption.
  • Strong presentation skills and prior experience presenting to Senior Leadership
