Role Overview - The Technical Delivery Manager Remittance Applications is responsible for endtoend delivery of enhancements and new initiatives on the bank's crossborder and domestic remittance platforms (SWIFT, RTGS/NEFT, IMPS/UPIbased remittance, wallets, and FX corridors). The role leads multidisciplinary squads (engineering, QA, DevOps, vendors) to deliver on time, within budget, and to the required reliability, security, and regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • EndtoEnd Delivery Ownership
  • Own delivery from preproject shaping and estimation through design, build, testing, deployment, and post golive hypercare for remittance applications.
  • Plan and manage delivery roadmaps, detailed project plans, and critical paths for multiple concurrent remittance streams (e.g., scheme changes, sanctions upgrade etc.,).
  • Ensure scope, timelines, and quality baselines are clearly defined and maintained.
  • Drive impact analysis and replanning when change requests occur.
  • Technical Leadership (Remittance Domain)
  • Understand and challenge solution designs for remittance flows including message formats (SWIFT MT/MX, ISO 20022, proprietary), routing, orchestration, FX, and fees. Work closely with solution architects to define highlevel and lowlevel designs covering integration with core banking, channels and guide teams on nonfunctional requirements: latency, throughput, resiliency, DR, observability, and security for highvolume remittance processing. 3. Stakeholder & Vendor Management
  • Act as primary delivery contact for business/product owners (remittance, FX, transaction banking), operations, risk, and compliance.
  • Coordinate with external vendors (switch providers, correspondent systems, SaaS platforms) on SOWs, delivery schedules and technical onboarding.
  • Run regular vendor reviews, and RAID (Risks, Assumptions, Issues, Dependencies) reviews, ensuring timely resolution of blockers.
  • Release, Environment & DevOps Governance
  • Oversee build pipelines, CI/CD, environment strategy (dev/SIT/UAT/perf/preprod/prod) and ensure stable environments for remittance testing.
  • Work with DevOps/SRE to define deployment strategies, rollback plans, monitoring dashboards, SLAs/SLIs/SLOs for remittance APIs and batch jobs.
  • Ensure all releases follow changemanagement processes, with documented runbooks, backout plans, and approvals from change advisory boards (CAB).
  • Define and enforce quality gates across SIT, UAT, performance, security testing, and regression cycles for remittance flows.
  • Ensure comprehensive test coverage for: o Straightthrough processing and manual repair paths o Sanctions/screening hits and false positives o FX rate application, charges/fee calculation o Exceptions, reversals, Rmessages, and cutoff/holiday handling o Drive defect triage and prioritization; track leakage to production and anchor continuous quality improvements.
  • Ensure delivery is compliant with regulatory requirements across served jurisdictions (e.g., AML, KYC, sanctions, datalocalization, centralbank circulars).
  • Work with InfoSec and risk teams to embed security controls (encryption, tokenization, key management, secure APIs), and to remediate vulnerabilities identified in remittance systems.
  • Maintain auditready documentation: design artefacts, test evidence, signoff trails, operational runbooks, and access controls.
  • Lead and mentor a blended team of inhouse engineers, BAs, QA, and vendor resources; manage allocation, performance feedback, and skill uplift in the payments/remittance domain.
  • Coach teams on agile/scrum or hybrid delivery models, ensuring ceremonies, velocity tracking, and continuous improvement are in place for remittance squads.
  • Best practices in documentation, coding standards (via tech leads), observability, and incident postmortems for remittance platforms.

Experience

  • 1018 Years in IT/financial services, with at least 57 years in payments/remittance systems (crossborder, FX, SWIFT, domestic rails).
  • Minimum 35 years in a delivery / program / technical project management role, leading midtolarge programmes (multisquad, multivendor).
