About the Role: Technology Consultant

Location: India (Remote)

As a Technology Consultant, you will lead comprehensive technology assessments for investment opportunities,focusing on architecture, infrastructure, data maturity, security, scalability, and development practices. You will conduct in-depth due diligence to evaluate IP, vendor dependencies, compliance, and technical risks while identifying value creation opportunities. Collaborating with cross-functional teams, you will define integration or

carve-out strategies, assess operational models, and estimate associated costs. Leveraging your expertise in modern technologies, cloud infrastructure, and software delivery practices, you will benchmark targets against industry standards and advise on risk mitigation and optimization strategies. Your insights and reports will directly support investment decisions and post-acquisition technology transformations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive technology due diligence on prospective investment targets, assessing architecture, infrastructure, software/code base, integrations, data maturity, security, scalability, technical debt, and development practices.
  • Evaluate IP, licensing, third-party vendor dependencies, contract obligations, regulatory & data compliance, and any existing or contingent liabilities from a tech perspective.
  • Analyze integration/ carve-out requirements and help define scope of work, one-time costs, ongoing operational model, and recommended separation strategy for technology assets.
  • Benchmark target's technology stack and practices against sector peers, standards, and best practices to identify value creation levers.
  • Keep abreast of emerging technologies, cybersecurity threats, cloud infrastructure patterns, software delivery methodologies (e.g. DevOps, CI/CD) and advise how they may impact deal value or risks.
  • Produce detailed reports and risk analysis with quantified findings; present findings and recommendations to investment committee / senior leadership.

Required/Preferred Skills & Experience

  • Bachelor's or Master's in Computer Science, MBA, Engineering, Information Systems, or related technical field.
  • Experience 5-14 years with relevant experience for last 4-6 years in technology consulting, software engineering, architecture, or IT advisory, preferably including direct experience supporting Private Equity
  • Excellent communication skills: able to create high-quality deliverables, articulate technical risks and opportunities to non-technical stakeholders, and lead presentations to senior leadership.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving and quantitative skills.
  • Experience in risk assessment, mitigation planning, cost estimation, and road-mapping for post-acquisition technology integration or separation.
