Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Technical Lead - DBA specializing in MS SQL Server to manage, optimize, and secure enterprise database environments. The role involves leading a team of database administrators, ensuring high availability, performance tuning, and implementing best practices for database management across critical systems.
Job Roles & Responsibilities:
Lead and mentor a team of DBAs, providing technical guidance and oversight.
Design, implement, and maintain Microsoft SQL Server databases in production and non-production environments.
Ensure database performance, availability, scalability, and security.
Perform database performance tuning, query optimization, and indexing strategies.
Manage backup, recovery, and disaster recovery (DR) planning and execution.
Implement and support High Availability solutions such as Always on Availability Groups, clustering, and replication.
Monitor database health and proactively resolve issues.
Collaborate with application and infrastructure teams for database design and deployment.
Handle database migrations, upgrades, and patching activities.
Establish and enforce database standards, policies, and procedures.
Conduct root cause analysis for production incidents and implement preventive measures.
Ensure compliance with security and data governance policies.
Skills:
Proven experience in a technical leadership or team lead role.
Strong knowledge of T-SQL, query optimization, and performance tuning.
Experience with SQL Server High Availability (HA) and Disaster Recovery (DR) solutions.
Familiarity with cloud platforms (Azure SQL, AWS RDS) is a plus.
Hands-on experience with backup/recovery tools and automation scripting (PowerShell, SQL scripts).
Understanding of database security, encryption, and compliance standards.
Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities.
Microsoft certifications such as Azure Database Administrator Associate or SQL Server certifications.
Experience with DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and database automation.
Exposure to monitoring tools like SQL Server Profiler, Extended Events, or third party tools.
Leadership and team management

Attention to detail and quality focus
Experience: 8+ years of experience in database administration with strong expertise in MS SQL Server.
Education:Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field.
