We are seeking a skilled and precise Technician for Spark EDM to operate and manage CNC EDM machines. The ideal candidate will have strong operational capabilities, an eye for detail, and a commitment to accuracy in producing complex parts. This role requires proficiency in reading technical drawings, independent machine operation, and adherence to safety and environmental standards.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Operate two CNC EDM machines with tool changers efficiently and accurately.
- Demonstrate capability in simple electrode designing.
- Must be able to read and understand technical drawings and capable of identifying the necessary EDM operations.
- Operate the Spark EDM machine without supervision, ensuring high-quality output.
- Capable of using all measuring instruments to an accuracy of 0.01mm.
- Capable of sparking the profile of simple inserts (i.e., with 1-2 processes) with adherence to process planning details.
- Capable of setting the job and electrode to an accuracy of 0.01mm.
- Capable of producing the final job with 0.02mm accuracy.
- Possess a clear understanding of flushing and carbon cleaning procedures on both the job and electrode.
- Capable of deburring the electrode without damaging the profile.
- Know how to calculate and build up slip gauges for setting a sine table to spark gates or counterbores.
- Capable of clearly understanding operation-wise processes and accurately identifying the required electrodes.
- Capable of setting the job and electrodes within the allotted time and completing the sparking process within the given timeframe.
- Capable of running two machines without supervision.
- Capable of taking dimensions from CAD files.
- Ensure that ISO 14001 and applicable legal requirements related to Environmental Management Systems (EMS) are appropriately addressed in all handled areas.
- Ensure that Occupational Health & Safety Management System requirements are appropriately addressed in all handled areas.
- Actively participate in Fire Fighting activities and take responsibility for the shift.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- DME or ITI qualification.
- Knowledge of 3D modeling software.
- Knowledge of basic electrode design.
- Knowledge of basic preventive maintenance of EDM machines.
- Knowledge of chemical handling & safety, and emergency preparedness to handle spillage of chemicals & waste.
