Job Title: UAV Flight Ops Technician
Job Summary
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Entry-Level UAV Flight ops Technician to join our flight operations team. The ideal candidate will assist in executing UAV missions, conducting pre-flight and post-flight checks, and ensuring safe and compliant drone operations.
This role is suited for individuals who are eager to gain hands-on experience operating UAVs/ Multi Rotor in mission-critical environments, and who demonstrate integrity, situational awareness, and a strong sense of operational responsibility.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide engineering feedback to the multi-disciplinary design teams.
- Flight testing of Technical/ Safety prototypes. This includes baseline UAV integration, Flight line Operations, handling all Flight safety SOP.
Flight Operations
- Operate UAVs for various missions, including testing, training, field operations, and data capture.
- Conduct pre-flight inspections, checklists, and system readiness assessments.
- Perform post-flight procedures, including log updates, hardware checks, and data offloading.
Safety & Compliance
- Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs), OEM guidelines, and regulatory requirements.
- Maintain detailed flight logs, checklists, and documentation.
- Identify and report any anomalies, safety risks, or compliance deviations.
Equipment Handling
- Assist in UAV assembly, disassembly, battery management, and equipment upkeep.
- Perform basic troubleshooting and coordinate with the technical team for advanced maintenance.
Coordination & Communication
- Work closely with the Flight Operations Team, Engineers, and Mission Coordinators.
- Communicate mission status, issues, and safety concerns promptly and clearly.
- Support training sessions and simulations as required.
Required Qualifications
- Diploma Tech in Aerospace, Aeronautical, Mechanical, or ECE
- Basic knowledge of UAV systems, aviation safety, or remote aircraft operations.
- Ability to understand and follow SOPs, checklists, and technical guidelines.
- Strong attention to detail and situational awareness.
- Good communication and teamwork abilities.
- Willingness to travel to field locations for missions.
Preferred Qualifications (Good to Have)
- Typical flight operational technician roles require:
- ITI/Diploma Tech in Aerospace, Aeronautical, Mechanical, or ECE
- Hands-on drone/ UAV/ mechanical/ Avionics experience (assembly, configuration, testing, troubleshooting)
- Basic of drone hardware and sensors (motors, ESC, sensors, power systems, batteries)
- Familiarity with flight control systems and ground control software.
- Maintenance and repair skills (electronics and mechanical)
- Basic understanding of flight operations, safety protocols, and aviation regulations.
- Basic understanding of Radio Communication.
Working Conditions
- Field operations in diverse and challenging outdoor environments, including remote or restricted areas.
- Exposure to varying weather conditions as missions that require deployment in non-ideal climates.
- Flexible working hours aligned with mission demands, including early mornings, late evenings, weekends, or extended duty periods when required.
- Adherence to defence safety protocols, security procedures, and controlled operational workflows.
- Potential travel to training sites, field testing ranges, or defence operational zones as needed.
