Job Summary
The Marine Electrical & Electronics Technician is responsible for ensuring optimal performance, safety, and reliability of boats and marine engines. This role involves diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining electrical and electronic systems while delivering high-quality service and professional customer support. The technician will work across a variety of boats and engines, following manufacturer standards and safety regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct detailed inspections, diagnostics, and testing to identify root causes of electrical, electronic, or performance-related issues.
- Perform repair, servicing, and maintenance of marine electrical and electronic systems.
- Adhere to manufacturer-recommended service schedules and carry out routine inspections and preventive maintenance to extend equipment lifespan.
- Maintain and manage inventory of spare parts, ensuring availability of frequently used components. Identify, order, and document required parts accurately.
- Perform post-repair testing and performance checks to ensure systems meet quality standards and customer expectations.
- Maintain accurate records of repairs, maintenance activities, spare parts usage, service reports, and work orders. Submit detailed reports to the line manager.
- Interact with customers in a professional and courteous manner, addressing concerns, explaining repairs, and advising on proper maintenance and performance optimization.
- Follow all safety procedures and regulations to ensure a safe working environment. Properly handle tools, equipment, and hazardous materials, and comply with environmental regulations for waste disposal.
- Support continuous improvement of service quality and operational efficiency.
Qualifications, Skills & Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Technical training or certification in Electrical, Electronics, or a related field.
- Strong knowledge of boats, marine engines, electrical systems, and their operation.
- Proven ability to diagnose and repair electrical and electronic faults.
- Familiarity with marine diagnostic tools and testing equipment.
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- High attention to detail and ability to work with precision.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills for effective interaction with customers and team members.
- Ability to work independently and manage time and tasks efficiently.
- Fluency in English (written and spoken); Arabic language skills are an advantage.
- Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, and overtime as required.
- Willingness to travel as per job requirements.
