Industry: Oil & Gas Refinery / LNG / NGL / Utilities
1. Role OverviewWrite user-friendly and concise operating procedures, standing instructions, and new project documentation in accordance with the established competency assurance standard to support the effective daily operation of Oil & Gas processing, LNG/NGL assets, Utility systems, and the start-up of all new projects.
2. Key Responsibilities
Prepare and update Operating Philosophy Manuals (OPMs) and supporting operations documentation for process units and utilities.
- Develop and document normal, start-up, shutdown, emergency, and abnormal operating philosophies under the guidance of senior engineers.
- Interpret PFDs, P&IDs, Control Narratives, Cause & Effect diagrams, datasheets, and vendor documentation.
- Coordinate with Process, Instrumentation, Mechanical, Electrical, Safety, and DCS teams for technical inputs and clarifications.
- Incorporate review comments and support document revisions in accordance with project schedules and document control procedures.
- Ensure compliance with applicable quality, safety, and company standards (ISO, project specifications).
4. Preferred Experience & Skills
- Experience in EPC / PMC / Owner engineering project environments.
- Exposure to commissioning, start-up, DCS, ESD, and interlock philosophies. or plant operations activities.
- Basic awareness of Process Safety and EHS studies such as HAZOP, LOPA, SIL, and Risk Assessment, and their relevance to operating documentation.
- Experience with utility systems (steam, boilers, cooling water, instrument air, nitrogen, power).
- Strong coordination skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple document deliverables.
3. Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Chemical, Mechanical, or Petroleum Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in technical documentation for Oil & Gas, LNG, or refinery projects.
- Experience in preparing or supporting OPMs, operating procedures, or operations manuals.
- Basic to intermediate understanding of refinery processes, LNG/NGL systems, AGRU, SRU, and utilities.
- Good written English with the ability to clearly present technical information.
