About the Role
The Engineer - Sales & Operations is a critical hybrid position that bridges technical engineering expertise with commercial sales acumen and operational excellence. This professional will be responsible for identifying customer requirements, engineering customized solutions, supporting the sales process, and optimizing operational workflows. The role requires a balance between delivering technical proficiency, driving revenue growth, and streamlining business processes.
Primary Purpose
To serve as a technical bridge between customers and the organization, combining deep engineering knowledge with sales support and operational optimization to drive business growth while maintaining customer satisfaction and operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
Technical Sales Support (40%)
Prepare and deliver technical presentations and product demonstrations to potential and existing customers
Conduct customer consultations to understand technical requirements, challenges, and business objectives
Develop customized engineering solutions that align with customer needs and organizational capabilities
Translate complex technical concepts into clear, customer-friendly language
Provide pre-sales and post-sales technical support to customers and sales team members
Prepare detailed technical proposals, specifications, and cost estimates
Conduct equipment and system compatibility analysis for customer implementations
Collaborate with internal engineering teams to ensure technical feasibility of proposed solutions
Sales Development & Account Management (35%)
Identify and develop new business opportunities in assigned territories or accounts
Build and maintain strong professional relationships with key clients, decision-makers, and stakeholders
Participate in sales calls, negotiations, and contract discussions to support the sales team
Generate leads through research, outreach, and networking activities
Develop case studies and technical documentation to support sales efforts
Conduct competitive analysis and market research to inform sales strategies
Support the sales forecasting process with accurate technical and timeline assessments
Ensure customer acceptance and satisfaction with delivered solutions
Operations & Process Optimization (25%)
Monitor and optimize sales pipeline and order fulfillment processes
Maintain accuracy of sales data, customer information, and technical documentation in CRM systems
Track and analyze key performance metrics including sales pipeline, conversion rates, and cycle times
Identify bottlenecks in operational workflows and propose process improvements
Assist in implementation of automation tools and systems to enhance efficiency
Coordinate between sales, engineering, and implementation teams to ensure seamless project execution
Prepare regular reports on sales performance, operational metrics, and business development activities
Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and process standardization
Required Qualifications
Education
Bachelor's degree in Engineering ( Electrical, Electronics / Instrumentation or related discipline)
