Job Description

We are seeking a seasoned Technical Project Manager (TPM) to lead complex enterprise application modernization and platform transformation initiatives. This role requires strong technical depth in .NET ecosystems, cloud-native architectures, multi-tenant design patterns, DevSecOps maturity, and phased migration strategies.

The TPM will drive structured execution across architecture assessment, gap remediation planning, modernization roadmaps, migration factory enablement, and operational uplift programs ensuring delivery excellence, stakeholder alignment, and measurable business outcomes.

This role sits at the intersection of Engineering, Architecture, Infrastructure, Security, and Executive Leadership.

Key Responsibilities

1. End-to-End Program Leadership

  • Lead multi-phase technical assessments and modernization programs from discovery through executive decision readiness.

  • Drive structured planning across architecture documentation, gap analysis, remediation roadmaps, and migration sequencing.

  • Establish milestone plans with overlapping workstreams and rolling deliverables.

  • Ensure traceability from current-state assessment to target-state architecture to execution roadmap.

2. Technical Governance & Architecture Alignment

  • Partner with Principal Architects and Solution Architects to:

    • Align modernization initiatives with cloud-native and multi-tenant design principles.

    • Drive tenant isolation strategy alignment and extensibility frameworks.

    • Oversee service decomposition and domain-aligned modernization efforts.

  • Facilitate architecture reviews and decision-gate forums.

  • Ensure modernization adheres to modularity, interoperability, and security standards.

3. Migration Strategy & Factory Model Enablement

  • Lead phased migration planning using incremental modernization patterns (e.g., Strangler approach).

  • Establish repeatable migration playbooks, tooling requirements, cutover strategies, and rollback mechanisms.

  • Drive migration sequencing based on:

    • Dependency complexity

    • Business value prioritization

    • Data boundary alignment

  • Develop per-implementation timeline estimates and critical path analysis.

4. Cross-Functional Coordination

  • Align Engineering, DevOps, Data, Infrastructure, Security, and Business SMEs.

  • Facilitate structured stakeholder interviews and discovery workshops.

  • Ensure executive visibility through steering committee reporting.

  • Maintain decision logs, RAID registers, and dependency tracking.

5. DevSecOps & Operational Excellence Oversight

  • Evaluate CI/CD maturity and release governance practices.

  • Drive improvements in:

    • Multi-version release strategy

    • Automated testing coverage

    • Blue-green and canary deployments

    • Infrastructure-as-Code readiness

  • Oversee observability uplift including distributed tracing, structured logging, and tenant-aware monitoring.

  • Ensure integration of security scanning (SAST/DAST, dependency scanning, container scanning).

6. Risk & Compliance Management

  • Proactively identify risks across architecture, data isolation, security posture, cloud readiness, and modernization sequencing.

  • Manage ambiguity in non-functional requirements and drive measurable SLA alignment.

  • Ensure adherence to regulated data handling and tenant boundary enforcement principles.

  • Escalate executive decisions where breaking changes or architectural shifts are required.

7. Executive Reporting & Decision Enablement

  • Prepare structured Executive Decision Packs including:

    • Options and tradeoff analysis

    • Cost drivers and risk assessments

    • Remediation priorities

    • Migration readiness indicators

  • Translate technical complexity into strategic clarity for senior leadership.

Required Qualifications
  • 10+ years in Technical Project / Program Management within enterprise application environments.

  • Proven experience leading large-scale .NET modernization or platform transformation initiatives.

  • Strong understanding of:

    • .NET Framework to .NET 8+ migration strategies

    • ASP.NET Core and EF Core architectures

    • Multi-tenant SaaS design patterns

    • Cloud-native microservices architectures

  • Experience managing multi-workstream programs across architecture, data, DevOps, and infrastructure.

  • Demonstrated success delivering phased migration roadmaps with risk-controlled execution.

  • Strong executive communication and stakeholder management skills.
