Job Description

The Technical Project Manager combines the functions of a Project Manager, Scrum Master, and Technical Business Analyst, requiring a unique blend of business acumen, agile project leadership, and technical expertise. This role works closely with business stakeholders on requirements clarity and projected ROI; and works closely with the technical teams to ensure on-time completion of high-quality software and other project deliverables.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

  • Plan, execute, and oversee technical projects from initiation and discovery phases to production deployment and post-production transition to supporting teams, with heightened emphasis on Dev/QE execution phase.
  • Gather and analyze business requirements, translating them into technical deliverables like user stories, function specifications, and workflow diagrams to clearly articulate current functionality vs future functionality.
  • Serve as Scrum Master for technical project team, leading agile ceremonies like daily standups, grooming/refinement, sprint planning, sprint reviews, and agile team retrospectives.
  • Assess risks to project and/or team health and take appropriate steps to mitigate risk, ensuring project success.
  • Facilitate effective communication and collaborate with stakeholders across all levels of the organization as relevant to the project: understand scope, project goals, projected ROI, business impact, project timeline, project status, and pertinent impacts to project.
  • Act as a liaison between both technical and non-technical team members as well as stakeholders, ensuring clear communication and understanding of technical issues and solutions.
  • Create and maintain project documentation including requirements specifications, project plans, forecasted timelines, user stories, subtasks, and reports to provide enterprise-level visibility of project plans vs deviations, timelines, status, issues, and remediation plans.
  • Act as subject matter expert within FFC tools, tech stack, lending platform applications, and user experience to ensure understanding of business and technical requirements; and ability to independently represent those requirements in project discussions and UAT activities.
  • Guide and mentor the project team, fostering a healthy, collaborative and high-performing environment that promotes continuous improvement.
  • Other duties as assigned by management.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field.
  • PMP, CSM, Agile PO, or similar certifications related to Project Management, Agile Team Leadership, and Technical Business Analyst workstreams preferred.
  • Minimum 3 years of combined experience as a Project Manager, Scrum Master, and technical Business Analyst in a software development environment; lending industry preferred.
  • Strong understanding of Agile methodologies like Scrum and Kanban; proficiency with supporting tools such as Jira, Confluence, PlanIt Poker and ability to create/maintain JQL queries, team boards and other Agile tools.
  • Demonstrated ability to facilitate routine Agile team ceremonies and accurately assess team progress during sprint.
  • Strong experience with project management tools like Jira, Trello, Microsoft Project, Atlas, and MS Office suite products to generate project plans, Gantt charts, resource plans, roadmaps, and other project-related elements.
