Job Description

The Technical Program / Project Coordinator will support planning, coordination, and execution of technology initiatives across the organization, including newsroom operations, broadcast infrastructure, digital platforms, and corporate systems.

This role will work closely with editorial, production, broadcast engineering, IT, and corporate departments such as HR, Finance, Admin, Legal, and Operations to ensure technology projects are delivered efficiently and aligned with business requirements.

The role requires strong coordination skills in a fast-paced broadcast environment where both live news operations and enterprise technology systems must function seamlessly.

Key Responsibilities

Technology Project Coordination

  • Coordinate planning and execution of technology projects across broadcast, digital, and enterprise systems.
  • Track project timelines, deliverables, risks, and dependencies.
  • Support Head of Technology in managing multiple concurrent technology initiatives.
  • Maintain project documentation, status reports, and implementation plans.
Broadcast & Newsroom Technology Project

Assist in deployment and coordination of projects related to:
  • Newsroom Computer Systems (NRCS)
  • Broadcast automation systems
  • Media Asset Management (MAM)
  • Studio and production technology
  • Live streaming and digital simulcast infrastructure.
  • Ensure minimal disruption to 24x7 news operations during technology upgrades or deployments.

Digital Media & Streaming Platforms

  • Coordinate technology integration for digital publishing and video distribution platforms.
  • Assist with projects involving Live streaming systems, OTT and website video players
  • Social media simulcast infrastructure
  • Support digital newsroom teams in scaling multi-platform content distribution.

Enterprise Technology Projects (Non-Editorial Teams)

Support implementation and coordination of corporate systems including:

  • HRMS systems
  • Finance & ERP platforms
  • Procurement and asset management systems
  • Admin and facility technology tools
  • Document management and workflow systems
  • Collaboration platforms
  • Act as a bridge between technology teams and business departments to translate operational needs into technology solutions.

Cross-Department Coordination

Work closely with multiple internal stakeholders including

  • Editorial & Newsroom teams
  • Broadcast Engineering
  • Digital Publishing teams
  • HR & People Operations
  • Finance & Procurement
  • Admin & Facilities
  • Legal & Compliance teams
  • Facilitate meetings, capture requirements, and track action items.

Vendor & Technology Partner Coordination

  • Coordinate with technology vendors for system deployment, upgrades, and troubleshooting.
  • Assist in vendor evaluation and technical documentation.
  • Track equipment procurement and system implementation schedules.

Documentation & Process Improvement

  • Maintain clear documentation of technology workflows and systems.
  • Support creation of standard operating procedures (SOPs) for new technology implementations.
  • Identify opportunities to improve efficiency and automation across newsroom and corporate systems.

Requirements

Required Skills & Competencies

Technical Skills: Basic understanding of
  • Broadcast production workflows
  • Digital media platforms
  • IT infrastructure and cloud systems
  • Enterprise business applications

Project Coordination Skills

  • Strong organizational and multitasking ability
  • Experience managing project timelines and deliverables
  • Familiarity with project management tools
  • Communication & Stakeholder Management
  • Ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical teams
  • Strong documentation and reporting skills
  • Ability to manage multiple stakeholders across departments.

Preferred Experience: 8+ years of experience in

  • Media technology coordination
  • Broadcast IT / digital operations
  • Technology project coordination
  • Experience working in broadcast media, digital media, or technology environments
  • Exposure to broadcast infrastructure, newsroom systems, or digital publishing platforms
  • Experience coordinating enterprise software implementations (HRMS, ERP, workflow tools) is a plus.

Education

Bachelor's degree in one of the following:

  • Information Technology
  • Broadcast Engineering
  • Electronics / Telecommunications
  • Media Technology
  • Computer Science
  • Certification in Project Management, Agile, or Scrum is an advantage.
