Technical Product Owner

Role: Technical Product Owner

Duration: 9 months (contract to hire)

Location: Hyderabad/ Gurugram - 70-80% Remote, On-site as needed/Work Hours: 2:30pm - 11:30pm IST

Position Description: This is not a general Product Owner or delivery-focused role. Specifically looking for a deeply technical, SaaS-oriented TPO with strong engineering credibility.

Scope and Responsibilities:

The Technical Product Owner will facilitate the agile practices within AI development teams, ensuring smooth collaboration, timely delivery, and continuous improvement.

Mandatory: Strong SaaS engineering background and prior experience working as a Product Owner (PO) in a SaaS product company - Own, refine, and prioritize the product backlog

Translate business priorities into clear sprint goals and development work

Communicate product vision and roadmap to business and technology stakeholders

Partner with Domain Manager to define and track KPIs, adoption metrics, and outcome measures

Ensure delivery teams understand business value, context, and success criteria

Partner with business leaders and IT stakeholders to understand strategic objectives and translate them into actionable, prioritized project and enhancement initiatives.

Ensure analysts are equipped to support test planning, user acceptance testing, and post-deployment validation for successful solution rollouts.

Lead requirements gathering, business process definition, and solution design sessions

Translate strategic objectives into actionable user stories and acceptance criteria

Support backlog refinement with POs, architects, and developers

Drive alignment across cross-functional business areas

Support UAT planning, validation, defect resolution, and post-release feedback

Required Skills

• Mandatory: Strong SaaS engineering background and prior experience working as a Product Owner (PO) in a SaaS product company
• Certified Scrum Master (CSM) or equivalent.
• 8+ years of experience in total with 5+ years of experience managing AI or software development projects.
• Strong understanding of Agile principles and frameworks.
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
• Translating business priorities into sprint goals and user stories
• Backlog refinement and sprint planning collaboration
• Cross-functional collaboration with business leaders, IT, and domain managers
• Driving alignment across multiple business areas

Client Notes

• Need experience in AI product development, RAG, model evaluation, hallucination control, shadow/canary rollout, fairness slicing, or risk gates.
• Translate an OKR into sprint goals/stories.
• Understanding of quantitative forecasting (P50/P90) or UAT capacity
• Client need someone who can operate at the level required for an AI-oriented Technical Product Owner
