Job Summary
NetApp Platform Product Team is responsible for building, launching, and managing NetApp's core storage and data management products. The team builds the foundational product capabilities behind NetApp's flagship product ONTAP and is at the forefront of driving a transformational journey at NetApp by accelerating innovation across NetApp's hybrid cloud portfolio (Public, Private & On-premises).
Unified Manageability is a key focus area for the Platform Product Team and involves the development and alignment of Product, Technical Evangelization, GTM strategies, Customer Value Enablement and Lifecycle Management practices across the NetApp storage product portfolio. The goal of the Product Management team is to enable ongoing customer success, increase product adoption and drive customer lifetime value growth across all market segments.
This (Technical Outbound PM) role will be responsible for NetApp Storage Management software and will work closely with key Field Technical teams, Product Managers, Engineering, Product Marketing, and other key partners. In this role, you will focus on delivering key technical value propositions to the NetApp Field, Partners and Customers through the creation of presentations, solution briefs, blogs, technical white papers, conducting proactive Field training/enablement sessions and creating Product-Field cohesion by influencing both Product Development efforts and Field initiatives. The successful candidate has a passion for understanding key customer requirements for major customer segments and use cases, identifying key product value drivers and establishing how NetApp manageability products deliver differentiated value drivers for driving customer technical and business outcomes
Job Requirements
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with Product Management and Engineering teams across the product lifecycle to build your expert-level understanding of one or more NetApp products and solutions, their place in the NetApp portfolio, how they integrate and most importantly how they solve customer challenges.
- Own end-to-end assigned technology/product area(s) on one or more specific technical topics; integrate technical narrative into overall product and solutions narrative, create claims and proof of value, and the competitive story.
- Act as a technical subject matter expert; evangelize NetApp and assigned technologies at executive briefings, webinars and virtual events, conferences and on social media with clear, compelling technical storytelling.
- Content Creation Create technical competitive collaterals (Why NetApp Storage - presentations/videos/blogs/solution briefs, etc) Pre-sales guides and demo narratives to establish technical wins Technical white papers, reference architectures, etc
- Sales Enablement Conduct periodic training and information delivery sessions to increase the mindshare in field, partners & customers Identify what's working/not working from a sales perspective and make course corrections in technical messaging Identify & target strategic partner/customer segments to increase the product/feature adoption.
- Product Launches and Events Support product launch activities and assist with Tradeshows, Conferences and Technical Sales Training or Partner Training activities Sales (Deal / RFP) Support Respond to customer or field inquiries, assist with Technical RFPs and work with a cross-functional team of PMs, Sales, Engineers as required.
- Product Development Influence Influence product roadmap and development priorities with outside-in sales, partner and customer perspectives Stay current with trends and competitors to identify improvements or recommend product enhancements.
Capabilities/Skills:
- Strong experience in architecture, deployment and onboarding of observability & manageability tools in hyper scalars & on-prem (secure zone) environments.
- Hands-on experience in Observability, Monitoring, Alerting, Notifications, Audit Logs & Reporting tools for fleet management of storage environments at enterprise scale.
- Hands-on experience in deploying applications in public cloud and in private cloud.
- Strong knowledge of virtualization (K8s, OpenShift, VMware, etc), networking & OS
- Knowledge of IAM, product security & security protocols for SaaS and enterprise applications.
- Hands-on experience in deploying and managing enterprise-scale SaaS application in cloud or on-prem to manage storage infrastructure.
- Technical proficiency in AI frameworks like LLM, MCP, Agentic, responsible AI, etc is desirable.
- Building lab environment in short notice for solution validation/demo/POCs.
- Strong content creation skills across written and video formats: presentations, technical reports, solution briefs, whitepapers, blogs, videos, talk tracks, battlecards, and demo scripts.
- Comfortable presenting in tech-events, on-camera presenter; capable of engaging technical and executive audiences across conferences, webinars, and social media
- Communicate in a clear, concise, and professional manner, tailoring the message to the audience, including both verbal and written communications.
- Must possess self-driven, proactive and end-to-end ownership mind-set.
- Lead, influence, and work with a global team across different time zones
Education
- A minimum of 8 years of relevant experience is required; 10 to 15 years of Industry experience is preferred working in enterprise software and IT infrastructure or technical solutioning.
- A Bachelor of Science/computer or advanced degree in electrical engineering, or computer science or related technical discipline; or equivalent experience is required.
- Demonstrated ability to craft technical narratives, value proof, and competitive positioning for integrated solutions.
- Excellent technical writing, communication, and storytelling skills; customer-centric mindset.
