About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and highly-skilled Technical Manager who is responsible for end-to-end delivery of software projects while also leading, mentoring, and managing engineering teams. This role bridges technical execution, delivery management, and people leadership to ensure high-quality, scalable solutions are delivered on time and teams continue to grow and perform at their best.

Key Requirements & Responsibilities:
1. Project & Delivery Management
- Own end-to-end delivery of multiple software projects, from planning through execution and release
- Manage Project scope and milestones effectively
- Project estimations, assessing resource needs and allocation
- Ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget
- Identify and mitigate delivery risks, dependencies, and bottlenecks
- Collaborate with Product Managers, Architects, QA, and other stakeholders to align delivery with business goals
- Track and report project progress, metrics, and outcomes to leadership
- Ensure adherence to engineering best practices, SDLC processes, and quality standards
2. Technical Leadership
- Provide technical guidance and decision-making across projects
- Review system designs, architecture, and key technical solutions
- Ensure code quality through reviews, standards, and best practices
- Support teams in resolving complex technical challenges
- Drive adoption of modern tools, frameworks, and engineering practices
- Balance short-term delivery needs with long-term technical scalability
3. People Management & Team Leadership
- Lead and manage a team of software engineers and/or technical leads
- Conduct regular 1:1s, performance reviews, and career development discussions
- Set clear goals, expectations, and development plans for team members
- Mentor and coach engineers to improve technical and professional skills
- Foster a high-performance, collaborative, and inclusive team culture
- Support hiring, onboarding, and team capacity planning
- Address performance issues constructively and proactively
4. Stakeholder & Communication Management
- Act as a primary point of contact for delivery-related communication
- Translate business requirements into actionable technical plans
- Communicate risks, trade-offs, and progress clearly to non-technical stakeholders
- Partner with cross-functional teams (Product, UX, DevOps, QA, Support)
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Overall 12+ years of Industry experience and a minimum of 4+ years of experience as Technical Manager,
- Strong Experience developing production code using TypeScript, Go-Lang, PHP, React, Node JS. Expertise in a few of these technologies is mandatory.
- Experience developing SaaS applications that run on top of AWS (and familiarity with S3, EKS, RDS, EC2)
- Familiarity with Docker
- Experience with CI/CD tooling
- Collaborate on complex customer requirements with internal and external stakeholders
- Contribute towards the design of a specific customer implementation over the development lifecycle, with a particular focus on delivery components
- A desire to work with engineers to develop their test-driven development practice
- A firm understanding of object-oriented design or functional programming, as well as common data structures and algorithms
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with cross cross-functional team
- Experience working with 3rd party software integrations (REST APIs, SOAP APIs, XML, JSON, etc.)
- Experience building secure applications and methodically improving application performance (Profilers, APM tools, Security scanning tools)
Experience Needed to Qualify
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or related field
- Minimum 12+ years of work-related experience
- Experience in developing complex integrated technical solutions involving vendor software across the development lifecycle
- Experience building customer solutions using existing assets and capabilities, including alliances
- Problem-solving skills, costing, and technology-based solutions with deals and offerings
- Industry knowledge across different technologies, especially in Cloud/SaaS/PaaS solutions and the role of IT in digital change
- Experience in Insurance Technology solutions (preferably policy administration systems), in Life & Annuity, will be an added advantage
